Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style Volume 56
Happy Sunday, friends!
It was another crazy busy week here at home, so there wasn’t as much happening on the blog as I would have liked. Sigh. But we still have plenty to chat about.
In today’s recap, I’m sharing my latest easy dinner recipe few summertime posts from past seasons.
And, as always, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite posts from a few of my friends.
So get comfy, settle in, and catch up with the latest week in rewind!
Tidbits From Home
I have to be honest. Between my schedule at home and work, this week feels like a bit of a blur.
School gets out in about three weeks, so we are packing in all the things! If you are a fan of the Holderness family, their newest music video spoof, Maycemeber, feels like an accurate depiction of our lives right now.
Peyton’s track season is winding down. Last week she competed in the conference meet in both the long jump and triple jump. This coming Tuesday is districts, followed by the state meet. (If she qualifies.)
Yesterday started with the successful completion of my seventh college graduation as an event planner at a local university here in Nebraska. Immediately followed by Harper’s end-of-year dance recital.
It was a loooonnnng day. And this momma is tired. But it was so fun to see Harper shine on stage. That girl was born to be a dancer.
AND…today is packing day! By this time tomorrow, we’ll be on our way to Punta Cana. I can’t wait for a relaxing week on the beach. I’ll be sharing snippets of our trip on Instagram. And, of course, I’ll share all about it here once we get back.
My Favorite Finds
I purchased this summer romper for our trip. It’s so cute and comfortable! And comes in several colors.
This pendant necklace is an affordable dupe for the popular Nordstrom version, and it’s only $13!
If you’ve ever wanted a robot vac, these Sharks are on sale today for over 40% off!
This makes a great high school or college graduation gift.
This air fryer is on a BIG sale today and is a #1 best seller!
More Favorites From Amazon
I am always adding new finds to my Amazon storefront, so be sure to stop by and check out my latest curated collections, including all my favorite decor finds and my beach vacation essentials.
P.s. Did you know that I earn a small commission each time you click on a shoppable link in one of my posts and buy something? (Even if what you purchase is not the item I have linked.)
I am so thankful when you shop using my links. It helps keep my blogging dream alive and my little corner of the web up and going.
This Week On The Blog
On Tuesday I shared an easy dinner recipe.
This BBQ chicken made in the slow cooker and topped with creamy coleslaw is a meal the whole family will love.
The tender, shredded chicken has all the flavors of summer. And the coleslaw only takes 5 minutes to prep thanks to a packet of Creamy Coleslaw Dressing Mix from Mrs. Wages®.
It’s a favorite in our house, especially on hectic weeknights!
We’ve finally had some warm weather, which means the summer entertaining season will be here soon!
This round-up of outdoor lawn games includes some of the best family-friendly activities, including my favorite, bean bag toss (or cornhole as we call it here in Nebraska).
And, if you’re looking for an easy and affordable way to dress up your front door this summer, check out this post to read how to make a patriotic door basket with annuals.
Coming Next Week To MWLS
Next week I’ll be taking the week off to soak up the sun and the beach.
But I have some fun summer content planned in the coming weeks, including a home tour, Father’s Day inspiration, and some delicious seasonal recipes.
Stay tuned and watch your email inbox. I’ll let you know as soon as new posts are ready to go!

You are making such wonderful memories with your girls and their activities. I am sure the recital was fabulous. There is nothing better than little girls dancing. I hope your vacation was spectacular.
Thank you so much for sharing my Memorial Day post.

I was just thinking about May feels exactly like December where you look at your calendar and every weekend is booked and you feel like you’re just holding on til it all dies down in June, Jen 😆 I’m glad you guys made it through all the activities you have going on and are gearing up for vacation. It sounds like a dream and I hope you have so much fun! Thank you for sharing my menu ideas, I really appreciate it. Hugs, CoCo

It’s so true, isn’t it? Very relatable. Summer slows down a tiny bit without school, but there will still be camps and LOTS of activities. But at least we don’t have to worry about homework everynight. Here’s to holdin’ on tight until June!😉

Have so much on your vacation! Thanks for sharing Anne’s recipe this week.

Thank you! We had a wonderful vacation. I’m so glad we took the time together for just the two of us. Our only regret is that we waited so long to do it! We are already talking about when we can go on our next getaway.
