Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy Saturday, friends, and happy (early) Easter to those who celebrate. It’s time for another edition of the week in rewind. So get cozy, settle in, and let’s catch up!
Here’s a recap of everything you may have missed this week at MWLS.
Tidbits From Home
It seems we can’t catch a break this spring with it comes to sick germs. We were all packed up and ready to leave town for the weekend. But a little something called the flu descended on our house late Thursday morning and swiftly changed everything.
Our oldest, Peyton, tested positive for influenza A, which meant no trip to KC, no volleyball tournament, and a big shift in our plans for the weekend.
For a 14-year-old who lives, eats, and breathes the sport of volleyball, it was a soul-crushing moment when she found out that she couldn’t compete. But she’ll be better soon and (fingers crossed) be back on the court again next weekend.
But, as my momma said, it’s all about finding the silver linings. And that’s what we have been doing. Since we didn’t have to travel, I was able to take Harper to her school art fair on Thursday night. She was very proud of her piece titled “Wonder Mountain.”
We’ve also watched two movies and been enjoying a very low-key holiday weekend. I think an Easter staycation is just what our family needed.
My Favorite Finds
This week’s favorites include a random sampling of my latest Amazon finds. These pretty striped napkins are perfect for spring. I can’t wait to use them for a new tablescape I’m styling. Stay tuned for more on that in two weeks!
And this portable charger is a must-have. It’s been a lifesaver for all of the long hours we’ve spent at sporting events these last few months.

Such a great way to save the weekend, Jen! I know your daughter was upset about having to miss the tournament. It’s hard when they have their heart set on something they love so much. I hope she’s on the mend soon and will be back out on the court. The flu is no joke! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing my Spring wreath centerpiece, I really appreciate it. Off to dive into these fabulous links! Sending you lots of hugs and thank yous, CoCo

Thank you, CoCo. Yes, at 14 it is very hard when you miss out on something you are so passionate about. But it was probably for the best. She is doing much better now, so hopefully, the worst is past us. And you are so very welcome. Thank you for sharing your pretty centerpiece with us. So perfect for spring.

Thank you, Rachel. It was a bummer for sure, but we made the best of it. Lots of movies and snuggle time, and my sister and her family came and surprised us last night for a short visit. I hope you had a happy Easter!
