Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy Tuesday, friends! (Or maybe even Wednesday before many of you read this.)
I’m a bit late with my recap once again. But after a weekend of volleyball and a loooong day of travel on Sunday, I’m giving myself props for finding the time to get it done at all.
I shared three new posts last week, including my spring home tour, a garden-inspired tablescape, and the latest menu for my monthly supper club group.
Each post is linked below, so if you missed one, don’t worry! And, as always, I’ve also rounded-up ideas and inspiration for you from a few of my friends.
So grab a drink, settle in, and let’s catch up with the latest week in rewind!
Tidbits From Home
Last week our calendar was packed with sports, sports, and more sports.
Peyton had two track meets on Tuesday and Thursday. She’s loving her experience so far and flourishing in her newest event, the triple jump.
Kirk and I are enjoying track season too…minus the frigid cold temps. Can you tell how thrilled I was to be outdoors last week? Ha!
I have lived in Nebraska all my life, so you think I would be used to it by now. But seriously. Where did our spring weather go?!?
To wrap up the week, we headed north to Minneapolis for a club volleyball tournament. Kirk has family in the area who came to cheer on Peyton and her team.
And his mom and middle brother even made the trip from Colorado to watch.
Kirk and Harper snuck in a quick trip to the Mall of America, while I stayed at the hotel to help with team parent chaperon duties.
She was thrilled to have some special time just for her. And a trip to the Lego store to pick out a new Lego set made it even better.
It was a fun (but exhausting) weekend! And we’ll be back at it again this weekend for one of the last big travel tournaments of the season.
My Favorite Finds
This hair dryer and volumizing styler is a favorite in our house.
I love these slip-ons and they come in several colors.
This straw hat is super cute and would be perfect for our vacation in May!
I have and love this pretty spring tablecloth.
These baskets are great for storing toys or extra blankets.
More Favorites From Amazon
I am always adding new finds to my Amazon storefront, so be sure to stop by and check out my latest curated collections, including all my favorite decor finds!
P.s. Did you know that I earn a small commission each time you click on a shoppable link in one of my posts and buy something? (Even if what you purchase is not the item I have linked.)
I am so thankful when you shop using my links. It helps keep my blogging dream alive and my little corner of the web up and going.
This Week On The Blog
On Tuesday I shared my annual spring home tour. I say it every time, but home tours are genuinely some of my favorite posts to share with you.
I don’t know about you, but I love to sneak a peek into the homes of some of my friends throughout the year. And I always come away feeling so inspired!
Last year’s home tour incorporated lots of spring greenery with neutral accessories in shades of tan, cream, gray, and blue.
And while I didn’t change much, I hope this year’s tour still inspires you by showing you some budget-friendly ways to incorporate spring decor into your home.
On Thursday, I joined my friends from supper club for our newest party. Our theme was spring fling, and I had so much fun styling this garden tablescape.
All the table settings are gorgeous and could work for an Easter brunch, a Mother’s Day tea, or a baby or bridal shower. If you need some ideas for a party this spring, then this is one post you don’t want to miss.
And, in case you missed it yesterday, we shared our latest menu. It contains recipes for my lemonade iced tea, a mouthwatering dessert, and four delicious springtime salads.
This spring fling party menu has it all, so stop by the post for all the yummy goodness.

Coming Next Week To MWLS
This week I’m hoping to catch my breath, so it will likely be a bit slower here on the blog.
But stay tuned to your email for updates. I’ll let you know as soon as new posts are published.
I plan to share more fun spring decor round-ups, tips for styling a seasonal dough bowl, and an appetizer recipe for Easter.
Now, I just need to find the time to get it all done!
More Tips, Ideas, And Inspiration From Around The Web
Spring Tulip Wreath
My first feature belongs to Lynne at My Family Thyme for her beautiful spring tulip wreath. Isn’t it gorgeous?
I love the deep pink color of the tulips that Lynne chose. And the coordinating black and white check bow is the perfect finishing touch.
Spring Tulip Toast
Next is this recipe for spring tulip toast from my friend Jen over at Tatetots and Jello.
She always has the most creative ideas, and this appetizer is too pretty not to share! It would make a yummy addition to your Easter brunch menu or any of your upcoming spring get-togethers.
Spring Home Tour
And my final feature this week goes to Lora from Lora Bloomquist Create and Ponder.
I love the way that Lora displays unique vintage finds throughout her home. And these lockers of hers are one of my absolute favorite pieces.
Be sure to stop by Lora’s post to see more of her beautiful spring home tour.
