Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy weekend, friends!
It was another COLD and gloomy week in Nebraska. Brrrrr! But as I sit here this morning wrapping up my thoughts, the sun is currently shining, and at 39 degrees, the temps are warm(ish). At least compared to the single digits we have been experiencing.
One of our weathermen even announced a cargo-shorts and hoodie alert for all the local dads today. (If you know, you know. Ha!)
In terms of the blog, it was a bit of a quiet week. But I did share a new post for a simple centerpiece to help you chase away the winter blues. And, as always, I’ve also gathered some inspiration from a few of my favorite friends.
So pour cup of your favorite beverage, and catch up with the latest week in rewind!
Tidbits From Home
Our house got hit with more sick germs to start the week. This time, poor Harper came down with the stomach flu. I’ll spare you all the details only to say I am so thankful for Kirk.
I certainly owe him after a late-night bathroom clean-up session that can only be described as hazmat suite worthy.
Thankfully, the rest of the house avoided the same fate! And Haper bounced back in-time for us to travel out of town for a basketball game on Thursday night.
Peyton’s team played 30 minutes from my hometown, so my parents, along with my sister and her family, came to cheer them on.
We grabbed a quick dinner before the game. Then we watched as Peyton and her teammates rallied late in the second half to earn an exciting come from behind win!
After another week of battling with a case of the blahs, a bit of family time was just what I needed.
Today is also Peyton’s 15th birthday. It’s true when they say that time is a thief, and my momma heart has been feeling that a bit extra lately.
She is currently on a bus heading to play in another basketball game. (Her fourth in six days!) But we will celebrate later tonight with pecan pie (her pick) and birthday brunch tomorrow morning.

It’s so simple to make, and the display can can easily transition from winter right into spring.
