Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy Saturday, friends, and welcome to another week in rewind!
The phrase “best-laid plans” was my motto for the week, as I intended to share three new posts. But, in reality, it was all I could do to crank out one.
Sigh.
This week was a good reminder that in this busy season of life, it’s important to grant grace and forgiveness to others, but especially to myself.
Now for the good news! I still have some holiday goodness to share, including decor ideas, easy DIYs, and mouthwatering recipes from a few of my friends.
So get cozy, grab a cup of coffee, settle in, and let’s catch up!
Tidbits From Home
Last weekend we were raking leaves, and this weekend we are bracing for our first snow of the season! And would you believe we set near-record highs to start the week?
At least the snowfall means it’s socially acceptable to start decorating for Christmas now, right?
The transition from Thanksgiving to Christmas will be slow going (and I do mean slow.) I’ll likely bounce back and forth between the two holidays over the next few weeks both here and over on Instagram.
So whether you’re excited for turkey day or ready to deck the halls, I’ll have a mix of posts to celebrate both seasons.
My Favorite Finds
I’ve had this lamp for years and love it!
This two-in-one hair tool is a great time saver in the morning.
This would make a great gift for the coffee lover in your life.
I love this pretty holiday garland.
Here’s another cozy shacket to add to your fall wardrobe.
Latest Loves on Amazon
I’ve added several new holiday finds to my Amazon storefront, including my top picks for realistic-looking faux greenery, the best red and white Christmas decor, and more!
You can see all of my favorites by clicking here. Many things sell out early, so if you see something you like, be sure to grab it while it’s in stock!
This Week On The Blog
I had big plans for the blog this week, but this crazy little thing called life happened and sharing new content took a back seat.
But, in case you missed it, I did share one new post with a round-up of some of my favorite holiday greenery from Amazon.
Amazon has some of the most realistic-looking greenery around. From garlands to trees, swags, wreaths, and a variety of pine and cedar picks. There’s something for every budget and every room in your home.
And over on the MWLS Facebook page, I shared one of my favorite throwback recipes, turkey and provolone sliders. They’re a favorite in our house and a great way to use up all that leftover turkey from your Thanksgiving feast!
If you’re interested in the recipe, you can find it HERE.
Coming Next Week To MWLS
Next week I hope to get back on track with several new holiday-inspired posts, including a no-bake dessert for your Thanksgiving dinner, a sneak peek at my Christmas decor plans, and a simple holiday snack board.
I look forward to seeing you back here next week for all the fun!

Fabric Christmas Trees
These cutie patootie fabric Christmas trees are courtesy of my friend Cindy at County Road 407.
Isn’t the red and white ticking stripe fabric beautiful? I love the colors Cindy chose.
It may be time to tackle my fear of sewing and try to make some of these fabric trees myself.
Cranberry Orange Margarita
If you’re in the mood for a festive holiday drink this cranberry orange margarita from Michelle at Thistle Key Lane is one to try.
Doesn’t it look delish? I can’t wait to mix up a pitcher! Yum!
Dried Fruit Holiday Garland
This pretty holiday garland is from my friend Nicolle at Our Tiny Nest. Wouldn’t this look beautiful on a mantle or strung on a tree?
Stop by Nicolle’s blog to read her easy tutorial and learn how to make your own.

Thank you so much for featuring my fabric Christmas trees! What a huge surprise! Best thing about those little cutie patootie’s – it’s minimal hand stitching or can even be done with hot glue! Definitely worth a try Jen. Hope you get around to making some. Have a great week!

You are so welcome, Cindy. A glue gun is totally my speed. I may have to give them a try!
