Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy Saturday, friends! You know what time is… it’s week in rewind time!
Things were hopping on the blog this week. I shared tips for styling a small porch for fall, a new fall cocktail, and a round-up of 15 easy and festive ideas to help you prepare for Thanksgiving.
If you missed any of the action, I’ve linked each post below plus ideas and inspiration from some of my favorite blogging friends. So get cozy, settle in, and let’s catch up!
Tidbits From Home
We have a saying here in the Midwest. If you don’t like the weather, wait a few minutes, and it’s sure to change. And that has been true this week!
Our temps have been all over the place. From a record low on Tuesday to near-record highs forecasted throughout the weekend. We’ve just about seen it all.
Tuesday brought our first freeze which did in what was left of my garden and flower beds. Sad! Kirk and I plan to take advantage of one last blast of summer this weekend to do a lot of clean-up and yard work before the chilly fall temps return.
Before the crazy temps arrived, we enjoyed our annual family trip to the pumpkin patch last Sunday. The crowds were minimal, the apple-cinnamon donuts and kettle corn were ah-mazing, and we found the best pumpkins to carve.
Here’s a short video of our adventures that I shared earlier this week on Instagram.
With how busy our schedule has been since school began, it was nice to slow down and the perfect way to cap off the weekend.

This Week On The Blog
On Wednesday, I shared a round-up of 15 fun and festive ideas to help you get ready for Thanksgiving.
Whether you’re hosting for two, twenty, or even hitting the road for turkey day this year, there’s a bit of something for everyone in this post.
Then on Thursday, I shared tips for styling a small front porch for fall.
If you have a small front porch too don’t be discouraged. There are six quick and easy steps you can do to maximize your space and create a welcoming and inviting porch.
And, if you missed it, yesterday I shared my newest recipe. Apple cider mimosas. A spin on the traditional mimosa, this apple cider version is made with just two ingredients and the perfect combination of sweet and tart!
Coming Next Week To MWLS
Next week will be another busy week with three new posts. On Tuesday, I’ll be sharing a DIY centerpiece that would look so pretty on your Thanksgiving dinner table.
I’m also teaming up with my friends from supper club, and this month we’re celebrating with a Friendsgiving brunch that you won’t want to miss. Stop by on Thursday to see all the beautiful table styling ideas and then again on Saturday for our full brunch menu!

Such a fun weekend, Jen! I loved seeing you guys at the pumpkin patch. Ours is not nearly that big and it’s a treat to see how they do it up in states that have a real fall season. I can’t get over your girls! They’re growing too fast and are total cutie pies! Thanks so much for sharing my last-minute tablescape idea. I really appreciate it! Hugs, CoCo
