Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy Saturday, friends! After a short break, I’m back with a new weekly recap. So grab a cup of coffee, settle in and get cozy. It’s time to catch up with a new week in rewind.
Tidbits From Home
It feels like fall here in Nebraska, and I’m more than ready for sweater weather! It’s truly one of my favorite times of the year. The leaves are starting to turn brilliant shades of crimson and gold, and soup’s been on the menu for dinner more than once.
Beyond that, this week was spent trying to catch up on sleep after a busy, busy work schedule. Last week was Homecoming at the university where I work as an event planner. It’s always a lot of fun, but packing 13 events into a span of three days is just a tad exhausting.
My Favorite Finds
These adorable velvet pumpkins
This arched mirror
This cozy cardigan
These suede booties
This pendant necklace set

This Week On The Blog
Since I wasn’t able to share last Saturday, today’s recap includes posts from the last two weeks.
Last week I joined a group of friends for the annual blogger’s best fall home tour. There is always so much inspiration, and I love getting a peek into the homes of my friends each season.
On the tour, I shared our entry, dining room, and living room. If you missed it, you can catch the full tour here.
On Tuesday I shared these DIY pumpkin topiaries. They’re a fun and easy alternative to freshen up your planters for fall. And my favorite part? There’s no watering required!
And this week I also shared some exclusive content on Instagram. If you love soup season, be sure to stop by my stories to get the recipe for this creamy potato soup.
Coming Next Week To MWLS
Next week I’ll be sharing more of my fall porch, and a round-up of some pumpkin-inspired DIYs for the fall. I hope you’ll join me here again next week for all the fun!
More Tips, Ideas, And Inspiration From Around The Web
DIY Terra Cotta Pumpkins
Now that it’s officially October, I’m fully embracing all things pumpkin, so I instantly fell in love with these cuties from Wendy at WM Design House.
Wendy’s blog is filled with gorgeous and affordable DIY ideas, so stop by to see more and learn how she made these adorable terra cotta pumpkins.
Apple Pear Fall Sangria
If you love a good fall cocktail, then you’re going to love his next recipe from my friend Nicolle at Our Tiny Nest.
Doesn’t this apple and pear sangria look amazing? Yum! I can almost taste it. Stop by Nicolle’s page to get the recipe and mix up a batch for yourself.
Spooky Halloween Mantel
I confess that I don’t typically decorate our home for Halloween. It’s just never been a holiday that I get too excited about.
But whenever I see cute ideas like this spooky bat mantel from my friend Missy at Sonata Home Design, I think that I need to start!
Fun fact, Missy is a fellow Nebraskan, AND she used to teach in the same high school as my husband. Small world, right?
I love her bright use of colors and her fun and funky style. Be sure to visit her blog to say “hi” and see more of her seasonal decorating ideas.

Thank you, Missy. I actually work at NWU, but I know last weekend was UNL’s homecoming too! And a coffee date would be great!
