Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Raise your hand if you’re excited about a long weekend! Oh, good. Me too!!
It was another jam-packed week at home, but there was still plenty happening here on the blog. So settle in, grab a cup of coffee, and let’s catch up with the latest week in rewind.
Tidbits From Home
This week was all about volleyball, volleyball, and more volleyball. Peyton’s team went 1-1 this week, dropping a tough match to one of the top teams in the state.
Harper also started volleyball this week and loves it so far. Although, I’m not sure which she loves more. The game or the social aspect of getting to see some of her friends from school.
In other home news, the fall decor bins I mentioned getting out last week are still sitting piled in the corner of our living room untouched. Maybe this will be the weekend I finally get motivated to decorate?
My Favorite Finds
These flameless candles are great for both seasonal and everyday decorating.
These throw pillow inserts are the best!
I just snagged this cozy kimono sweater, and it comes in several colors.
These booties are perfect for fall.
I ordered two of these candle warmers this week to use with my favorite wax melts.

This Week On The Blog
If you’re still digging through your autumn decor bins and feeling a bit stuck, you might enjoy my post with 7 ways to transition your home for fall.
Decorating your home for the season doesn’t have to be complicated or cost you a lot of money. It might even be easier than you think!
On Thursday I shared a new recipe, peach-glazed pork tenderloin with roasted seasoned potatoes. If you love easy recipes with minimal dishes, this is one dinnertime dish I know you’ll love!
Small Changes To The Blog
I also want to share about a small change that happened here at MWLS this week. You may notice that I now have ads on my site. Like any business, it costs money to run a blog, and ads are one tool that helps make it possible to continue to bring you new content each week.
While they are a necessary evil, please know that there is nothing I dislike more than a website with disruptive ads that block or hide content. I will continue to work hard to balance your experience here on the blog with the opportunity to earn a few pennies now and then to keep this thing afloat!
All of this is new to me, so I’m sure there may be a few bumps in the road. Thank you in advance for your patience and support.
Coming Next Week To MWLS
Next week will be extra busy on the blog. I have an ambitious plan to share five new posts…phew! We’ll see if I can make it happen.
Stay tuned for budget-friendly fall DIYs, a fall-decor round-up, and a post filled with fall porch decorating ideas and inspiration.
More Tips, Ideas, And Inspiration From Around The Web
Terra Cotta Pumpkin Dupe
Have you seen the viral Pottery Barn jack-o’-lanterns that are taking the internet by storm? I love them, but the price tag is SCARY! (Do you see what I did there?)
Bad jokes aside, if you’re looking for a simple tutorial to make your own for a fraction of the price, visit my friend Jennifer at Cottage on Bunker Hill.
She is the queen of DIY dupes, and I think hers are even cuter than the originals!
Mini Apple Pies
I love all things apple this time of year, so of course, these adorable mini apple pies from my friend Heidi at Eleanor Rose Home caught my eye.
Don’t they look delicious? I can’t wait to try Heidi’s recipe!
DIY Fall Wreath
This DIY fall leaf from my friend Rachel at The Ponds Farmhouse is too pretty not to share!
Would you believe it’s made from preserved leaves? I love the mix of colors and the natural elements that Rachel used. I’m excited to make one of my own!
