Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy Saturday, friends! What a week it’s been! I felt like most days I was just in survival mode as we worked to get back into our school year routine.
In between the whirlwind of activities, I did manage to share one new post with an easy DIY hack for your home. I also sent a newsletter this week with links to some of my favorite fall posts from the past. In case you missed it, I’m linking a few of those again here.
And, as always, I’ve rounded up inspiration from some of my friends to share with you. So grab a cup of coffee, get cozy, and join me for a new week in rewind.
Tidbits From Home
It was a hectic week, but we packed in plenty of fun too!
On Monday we celebrated Kirks’ birthday with dinner at our favorite local burger place, Honest Abe’s. They have some pretty unique creations, but their burgers (and fries) are out of this world amazing.
And we capped off the birthday celebration with our traditional giant frosted cookie cake.
Monday also marked the start of a new school year and a new adventure for us…high school! I may have gotten a little misty-eyed. I’m planning to soak in every second. I know these next four years will fly by.
My Favorite Finds
I love these cute boots for fall and they come in several colors.
I just snagged this adorable waffle knit top.
My purse broke this week, so I got this best seller to replace it.
This cozy plaid throw is on my fall wish list.
How fun is this doormat for your fall front porch?
Latest Loves on Amazon
I haven’t started to decorate for fall yet, BUT I have started to make plans and will be getting out all of my bins soon.

This Week On The Blog
This week I shared a simple and affordable way to update an old light fixture in your home.
Just wait until you see what this chandelier looks like now!
Since I’m in fall planning mode, I also thought it would be fun to share a few posts from last season with you.
If you’re dreaming of crunchy leaves, sweater weather, and pumpkins you might enjoy taking a peek at last year’s fall home tour.
And with football season just a few weeks away, I couldn’t resist sharing this seasonal tablescape again. It’s one of my favorites!
Check it out for more fall table styling ideas and read my tips for hosting a backyard tailgate.
Coming Next Week To MWLS
The end of August is fast approaching, which also means a new month of supper club! Next week I’ll be teaming up with my friends to bring you new seasonal tablescape ideas and six fall-inspired recipes that you won’t want to miss.
Be sure to stop by the blog again next Thursday and Saturday for all the fun!

Thanks so much for sharing our library-inspired living room, Jen, I really appreciate it! It’s always fun to take a look back and see how much our style has changed and how we’ve used this space in different ways over the years. Creating a space to read and relax has been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Big hugs and thank you again, CoCo

You are so very welcome. I admit that I’m not a big reader (unless magazines count), but I would love a cozy space like this in our home someday to relax and unwind. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful and inspiring space.
