Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy Saturday, friends! It’s time for a new week in rewind. If you missed any of this week’s posts, I’ve recapped them here.
There’s an end-of-summer recipe, ideas to celebrate the new school year, plus DIYs, tips, and more from some of my friends.
So grab a cup of coffee, get cozy, and join me for all of the latest happenings!
Tidbits From Home
This week we soaked up the last few days of summer, or as I like to call it, the quiet before the back-to-school storm.
Last weekend the girls and I enjoyed a (mostly) successful shopping trip for new clothes and school supplies. I’ve decided that taking a teenage girl shopping is not for the faint of heart, and I’m glad back-to-school only rolls around once a year!
On Thursday, we met Harper’s new teacher at open house night. She’s nervous but excited for 3rd grade and can’t wait to play with all of her friends at recess again.
This week we also had our first experience with high school sports. Peyton tried out for the volleyball team and made the Varsity roster. She worked incredibly hard all summer at camps, open gyms, in the weight room, and even at home in the yard.
Kirk and I are both so proud of her for dreaming big and going after her goals. I can’t wait to watch her play and see her growth this season.
My Favorite Finds
I just bought two pairs of these colored jeggings. They are super comfy and come in several colors.
I have this cozy top in a few colors.
I’m loving these faux stems for fall.
With three pets, this carpet cleaner is a lifesaver!
I’ve had this basket for more than six years and love it. It’s perfect for corralling the clutter on your stairs.
Latest Loves on Amazon
Back-to-school season is here so, I created a new curated list for you with some of my favorite finds for the school year.
You can check out all of the latest finds on my Amazon storefront by clicking here!
This Week On The Blog
This week I shared my latest recipe, chocolate chip zucchini muffins with streusel.
These muffins are a huge hit in our house! They’re perfect for breakfast or a quick snack on the go, and you can easily double the recipe to freeze and save some for later.
And, since my husband and girls go back to school on Monday, I also shared 5 ideas for ways to celebrate the new school year. You can try some of these ideas with your own family, or share the post with your friends who have kiddos heading back to school this fall.
Coming Next Week To MWLS
Next week I’m sharing an easy and affordable way to update any light fixture on a budget. I hope you’ll stop by to join me!

Thank you, Donna. The summer always goes by quickly, but I think we’re all ready for a routine again and the fun experiences that come with a new school year. Definitely ready for cooler weather too. It is been so HOT! Happy to share your pumpkin topiary. It’s so cute. I may just have to make my own!

Thank you, Lori. Me either. It’s a mix of emotions. I’m so excited for her, but it already makes me sad to think how fast she is growing up!
