Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy Sunday, friend! You may have noticed that this week’s recap is a day later than usual. It was a busy one here on the blog, so I needed an extra day to pull it all together for you.
I shared three new posts, including a simple 5-minute summer decor idea, a luau-inspired tablescape, and a recipe for a summertime appetizer.
So grab your coffee, get cozy, and join me to catch up on the latest happenings from the week at MWLS.
Tidbits From Home
On Friday, Kirk and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary. It’s crazy to think we’ve been with each other for almost half of our lives. In November it will be 20 years.
Just look at these babies! 23 and 21 years old and ready to tackle the world.
And here we are two houses, two daughters, and almost two decades later.
It’s not always easy, but I love our crazy life and wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Last year we took a trip to Winter Park, Colorado. We had so much fun hiking and taking in the sights. I shared all about our favorite places to eat and things to do there in this post.
This year we enjoyed a staycation at home with dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. It was a low-key celebration, but it was perfectly us.
My Favorite Finds
This silverware set made an appearance on the blog this week. They may just be my newest obsession.
I’m loving this adorable top for the 4th of July.
I always get questions about these wall planters. I love how they dress up our front porch!
We had this chandelier installed in our dining room several years ago and it is currently on SALE.
This Week at MWLS
5-Minute Summer Centerpiece
Do you want to know a secret? This 5-minute summer centerpiece is almost the project that wasn’t.
I had planned to share a different DIY craft with you this week. But when I ran out of time to finish (or even get started), I pivoted to “plan B.”
Meet my happy accident. Sometimes it’s the little things that give us the most joy.
This centerpiece brings a smile to my face, and I hope it brings you joy, too!
Summer Luau Table for Two
Did you see the latest supper club tablescapes? This month, my friends and I went tropical and shared ideas with you for how to host a luau-inspired dinner party.
Our backyard may not compare to the beaches of Hawaii, but, it’s a nice quiet spot to sneak away for a meal.
If you missed it, stop by to see more of my simple and romantic summer luau dinner party for two.
Fresh Pineapple Salsa
This month for supper club, I was in charge of the appetizer. And since I love to make fresh homemade salsa each summer, this pineapple version seemed like the perfect easy recipe to make for a luau party.
The sweet and spicy flavors of the pineapple salsa taste ah-mazing. But be warned. Once you start to eat it, you might not be able to stop!
What’s Coming Next To Midwest Life And Style
Next week things will slow down just a bit, but I do have a new summer dessert recipe in the works.
If you love berry season, then this recipe is one you’ll want to read. I look forward to sharing it with you!
