Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy Saturday, friend! The weekend is here again, so you know what that means. It’s time for a new edition of the week in rewind.
I love these weekly posts where I share more about our lives and the little things happening behind the scenes. I hope you enjoy them too.
So get cozy, grab a cup of your favorite summertime drink, and let’s catch up! Here’s what you may have missed this week at MWLS.
Tidbits From Home
I hope you haven’t grown tired of seeing views from the garden. It’s one of my favorite places to spend time after the end of a long work day.
We have so many big plans and dreams for our backyard.
But for now, I’m loving the “in between” and the cozy oasis we’ve created.
I also spent some time this week decorating for summer. Here’s a sneak peek I shared on my Instagram page. I can’t wait to show you more next week as part of my summer home tour.
My Favorite Finds
These blue and white striped oversized throw pillows were a reader favorite last week, so I thought they were worth another share. The cover is removable, and they come in other colors, too.
These buntings are a fun way to dress up your porch, deck, or fence for the 4th of July.
Need father’s day ideas? You can’t go wrong with a grilling gift basket with this and this.

The Best Red White and Blue Summer Decor
I love the look of old-fashioned Americana decor, don’t you?
If you said yes, then you won’t want to miss this post. I shared 15+ of the best red, white, and blue decor finds to style your home for summer.
The round-up includes everything from pillows and wall decor to everyday pieces you can use to style simple vignettes that are perfect for the 4th of July (and all season long!)
Another Red, White, And Blue Favorite
With the 4th just a few weeks away, I wanted to share another red, white, and blue-inspired post from the past.
I had so much fun styling this patriotic tablescape with a mix of new and thrifted finds. I love how all the elements came together, but my favorite is the centerpiece.
Would you believe I made it with flowers from the grocery store? Friend, if you have a Trader Joe’s nearby and have never been, you need to go.
They have the best affordable flowers. It’s my go-to store when I want to create beautiful bouquets like this at home.
You can see more of this tablescape and other 4th of July decor and recipes [HERE].
What’s Coming Next To Midwest Life And Style
Next week I will be joining a group of 30 blogging friends to share my summer home tour. These are some of my favorite posts to write, and they are always a reader favorite as well.
I will be sharing on Tuesday, so stop by then to see more of our home decked out for the season.
More Tips, Ideas, And Inspiration From Around The Web
Cottage Container Garden
My friend Aliya at Open Doors Open Hearts shared her new DIY cottage container garden. It looks like such a peaceful space to relax and unwind after a long day, don’t you agree?
The rustic stone bench paired with the pots full of herbs and flowers adds a touch of French cottage charm. And I adore the beautiful wood rocker.
Go and tell Aliya “hi” and visit her blog to see more of her cozy and charming home.
Coastal Summer Home Tour
Amy at Cuter Tudor shared her coastal summer home tour. I love the combination of colors, and the pretty prints above the mantle set the tone for her coastal theme.
Amy’s post is filled with tips and ideas to decorate for the season. Stop by her blog to get inspired and see more of her summer home tour.
French Cottage Summer Porch
This beautiful french cottage summer porch belongs to Amber at Follow The Yellow Brick Home.
I’ve shared in past posts how much I love purple. (Especially when it comes to choosing plants for my spring and summer flower planters.)
So of course I fell in love with this view the moment I saw it. Head over to Amber’s blog to see more and get all of the details on her summer porch.
