Tidbits from Home
As usual, things have been pretty busy around our house with school and the girls’ activities.
As crazy as it is to think, we’re already getting close to the end of high school volleyball season, so the games and tournaments have been pretty nonstop.
Yesterday, we spent the day at an out-of-town quad, so today we’re taking it easy and catching up on things at home.
Kirk and the girls are on also fall break for the next few days, so I’m hoping we can all just relax and enjoy some much-needed downtime.
In other news, I finally finished decorating the house for fall!
I know some people are already sharing Christmas content, but you won’t see that here for at least a couple more weeks.
That said, I’ve been doing a little planning and pinning, so if you like to get ideas early, hop over to Pinterest and join me for some inspiration there!
My Favorite Finds
Did you know that whenever you click on a shoppable link in my posts and make a purchase, I earn a small commission – even if it’s not the specific item I’ve linked?
Your support means the world to me, and I’m genuinely thankful when you shop through my links. It allows me to keep sharing free content with all of you here on the blog.
These are the perfect fall and winter entertaining staples and are great for serving all your favorite cozy soups!
I love our pets dearly, but they can be so messy, especially on our carpets! So, I finally caved and bought one of these during Amazon’s Big Deal Days this week.
While decorating for fall, I took the opportunity to do some deep cleaning in the basement and bought a few of these to organize my holiday garlands.
Speaking of holiday garlands, these are my favorite! They sell out every year, and right now they’re over 20% off!
I also snagged one of these as a stocking stuffer for Peyton.

Halloween is just around the corner, and what better way to add a spooky touch to your Halloween tablescape than with these adorable ghost napkins?

This creamy chicken corn chowder is cozy comfort food at its best.
Now that it’s finally feeling like fall here in the Midwest, this chowder will be on repeat at our house for dinner throughout the chilly months ahead.
And, even if you don’t live near the beach (ahem… like us landlocked Midwesterners) it doesn’t mean you can’t bring a bit of coastal charm into your home!
Fall is the perfect time to switch up your home decor, and your dining room table is a great place to experiment with a unique and creative table setting like this coastal-inspired tablescape.

Hi Jen! I’m a little late to the game here but wanted to thank you for including a shout-out to my Halloween charcuterie board! I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday. Hugs, Crissy

Hi Jen! It does look like you’ve been a busy mama! Hopefully, you will all have some downtime soon. I can’t wait to see your new fall cocktail next week. I’m always looking for something different. Love your fall decor. I can’t even think about Christmas decor right now. We may be waiting until the week of Thanksgiving this year because of my surgery. It’s a good thing we have lots of previous content to share! Hugs.

We are definitely in the busy season of life, but I know I’ll miss it once the girls grow up and move out. We are trying to savor every moment, while enjoying the few slow days we do get. Happy fall, friend. Praying for a succesful surgery and a speedy recovery!

I know you love volleyball season, but I’m sure your looking forward to a little break in the season. I always felt that way between high school soccer and travel soccer season. Even a week or two feels needed! Thanks so much for sharing my no-sew garland! Have the best Sunday and week ahead! xo

Thanks, Kim. Yes, I certainly don’t want to wish this time away, but the short break we get between high school and club season will be very welcomed!
