Tidbits from Home
This week has been a real roller coaster, and it felt like everything that could go wrong did.
First, on Tuesday, we got the sad news that Kirk’s grandpa passed away.
Even though it wasn’t a surprise, it hit Kirk hard.
Grandparents are super special, and we’ll all miss Grandpa Ken a lot.
Then, on Wednesday, Peyton had a little accident with a tree.
Let’s just say the tree came out on top.
Score: Peyton – 0, Tree – 1.
The car is pretty banged up from backing into it, and because it’s an older model, we were told it’s totaled. Ugh.
It definitely wasn’t something we were expecting this year, but thankfully, no one else was involved and Peyton is okay, which is the most important thing!
We’re still figuring out what to do next with the car, but we’re relieved everyone is safe.
Finally, to top it all off, with all this rain we’ve been having, we discovered a leak in our roof!
Sigh… So we’ll be making calls this week to get quotes and get it fixed as soon as possible.
More Weekly Happenings
Luckily, there were some bright spots this week too!
On Monday, we got to see Harper shine at her end-of-year choir and orchestra concert.
Then, on Saturday, we celebrated a family wedding in Iowa for my cousin.
The ceremony and reception were held at a beautiful chapel and venue out in the country.
The setting was absolutely stunning and peaceful, and it was a great way to end what had been a bit of a rough week.
Even better, it was a chance to catch up with many cousins and other family members we hadn’t seen in a few years.

This cookbook is currently in my shopping cart and would make the perfect gift for Dad’s who love to grill – especially if your Dad has a Blackstone flat top griddle grill!
This top-selling grilling accessory is in my cart too and comes in several colors!
These plaid salad plates are so fun and would be a great addition to a patriotic summer party.
This drink dispenser with the rattan stand are great for summer entertaining.
