Tidbits from Home
The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of club volleyball travel.
After two days at home to recover from last weekend’s tournament, this weekend’s adventure landed us in Salt Lake City!
We left home on Thursday, and since Kirk and Harper had school, this trip was just a girls’ getaway for Peyton and me.
Getting to Salt Lake City was an adventure in itself!
Our original flight out of Omaha had some mechanical problems, which led to two delays and us missing our connecting flight in Denver.
Not wanting to risk getting stranded or the Denver flight canceling completely, I talked to the booking agent and had to rebook our entire trip!
Luckily, we snagged some of the last seats on the absolute last flight out of Denver to Salt Lake City that night.
After a travel day that started at 10:00 am, we finally rolled into Salt Lake City a little after midnight.
Needless to say, this mama was exhausted!
Peyton’s team started the tournament strong with a great first day!
Unfortunately, they faced the top-ranked team in their division yesterday and fell out of championship contention.
But, they aren’t finished yet!
They have a few more matches today and we’re cheering them on to notch some more wins before heading home on Monday.
Beyond the volleyball tournament, we’ve been squeezing in some fun experiences while soaking up all the gorgeous scenery.
One highlight was catching the spring scrimmage game between the University of Utah and BYU’s volleyball teams.
It was such a fun environment and we saw some amazing plays on both sides of the net.

Hi Jen! Thank you so much for sharing my birthday crown! I get so much joy from making these for my grandchildren. Enjoy the rest of your trip and good luck to your daughter’s team. One of my daughters was a swimmer, and I always had so much fun getting away with the team and spending time with her team mates and the other moms. I hope you have a smoother trip home!
