Week in Rewind Volume 102
Hi, friends! Happy weekend and Happy New Year!
I hope your 2025 is off to a fantastic start.
Since we last caught up, I’ve been thinking about how to keep these recaps more consistent—especially as we head into a busy travel season.
So, starting this year, I’m planning to share these posts bi-weekly. That way, there’s always plenty of fun updates to catch up on!
Today, I’m sharing all the details about how we rang in the new year and giving you a sneak peek at some exciting trips we have planned.
Plus, in case you missed anything, I’m sharing my latest posts along with some inspiration from a few friends.
So grab your favorite cozy drink, get comfy, and let’s rewind the week together!

Tidbits from Home
I’m not one for battling crowded bars or packed venues, so we usually keep things low-key on New Year’s Eve.
This year, we stayed home in our cozies, ordered Chinese takeout, and enjoyed a relaxing night in.
Before the holiday break ended, I also made sure to squeeze in some special one-on-one time with each of the girls.
Harper and I went to see Wicked Part 1, and let me tell you—it was SO good! I saw the show on Broadway years ago, so I was a bit skeptical about the movie, but I was happy to be proven wrong.
Harper, our music and dance lover, was completely mesmerized and is now obsessed with all things Wicked.
Can you guess what she’ll be getting for her birthday later this week?
Peyton and I had a fun, low-key day together too. We grabbed coffee and hit the shops so she could spend some of her Christmas money.
We had so much fun we failed to take any pictures, but I’ll take as many of those days as she’s willing to give me.
I know not every teenage girl loves hanging out with their mom, so I feel pretty lucky.
As for the rest of life, we’re still working on settling back into a routine after the long holiday break.
My days have been all over the place, and I may or may not have accidentally turned off my alarm once or twice last week.
Sadie perfectly captures how I’ve been feeling in this photos…here’s hoping I can get back into a better groove soon!
Travel Season is Here…Let’s Hit the Road!
And now for the exciting part…our upcoming trips!
This coming weekend, we’re heading to Colorado for Peyton’s first club volleyball tournament of the season.
It’s just the start of what’s shaping up to be a very busy travel year, with tournaments in Minnesota, Missouri (twice), Kentucky, Utah, and Kansas still to come.
While we’re in Colorado, we’ll also get to catch up with a lot of Kirk’s family. Harper is especially excited for a cousin sleepover, so it should be a fun weekend all around!
And, right after we get back, I’m off to Charleston, South Carolina, to meet up with some blogging friends.
I’ve never been before, but I’ve heard it’s absolutely gorgeous. I’ll be busy working while I’m there, but if you have any must-see spots or restaurant recommendations, send them my way.
I can’t wait to share more about both trips in the next recap!
