Ultimate Chips And Dip Platter
Raise your hand if you’re excited to watch the big game. Now raise your hand if your favorite part of the game is the food.
Yep. That’s me. Guilty as charged. The half-time show and commercials are entertaining. And the game is okay, too. But for me, the football event of the year is all about the snacks! And if that describes you too, then today’s post will speak to your snack food-loving soul.
With the biggest game of the year just a few weeks away, it’s the perfect time to talk about easy appetizers, and it doesn’t get much simpler than this recipe for the ultimate chips and dip platter made with dip mixes from Mrs. Wages®.
Perfect for game time or anytime, chips and dip are an easy crowd-pleasing snack.
How To Make A Chip And Dip Platter
Making a chip and dip platter is a cinch! All you need is a large platter or tray, a few small serving bowls, chips, and a few different types of dip.
Mrs. Wages® brand is my go-to for canning products and recipes, but did you know they also have a variety of instant mixes and flavorful dip mixes? Yep! They do. Ranch dip, guac, queso, even a fruit and cilantro salsa mix. All of their products can be purchased online, or you can check your local retailer for availability.
The Dips
I used four different dips for my platter, but you can use as many as you like. Each is perfect for sharing. Expecting a big crowd? You can easily double the amount of dip as needed.
Salsa
Chips and salsa are the quintessential chip and dip pairing. Especially when it’s homemade salsa made with Mrs. Wages® Salsa Mixes. I prefer the mild, but if you like things a bit spicier, you can also include a medium or hot version. Or serve all three for a bit of variety.
Queso
Kick things up a notch with Mrs. Wages® Pepper Jack Queso Cheese Dip. It’s the perfect combination of spice and cheesy goodness.
Guacamole
Homemade guacamole is easy with Mrs. Wages® All Natural Guacamole Seasoning Mix. Mix it up and serve it as is, or stir in some extras like roasted corn and diced tomatoes to make it your own.
Ranch
Mrs. Wages® All Natural Ranch Dip Mix isn’t just for veggies. It’s perfect for dipping chips and crackers too. And, if you like a bit more heat, be sure to check out their Salsa Ranch Dip and Chipotle Ranch Dip mixes.
The Chips
When it comes to the chips for the platter, there are no rules about how many different ones to include. But, if you were to ask my husband, he would tell you there is no such thing as too many.
Generally speaking, pick options that pair well with your dips, and be sure to use several different types of chips for a variety of colors and flavors.
Tortilla chips
Use a mix of tortilla chips in different colors like white, yellow, and blue to add interest to your platter.
Ridge-cut chips
Good ‘ole fashioned ridge-cut potato chips are always a favorite. I used regular flavored chips, but you can use whatever you’d like.
Pita chips
Include some pita chips for a lighter option. The garlic and herb-flavored ones are one of my favorites.
Kettle-cooked chips
Add more texture and flavor to your chip and dip platter with some crunchy kettle-cooked chips.
Vegetable chips
Sweet potato chips or other veggie chips are another fun option to consider.
Assembling The Platter
To assemble the platter, first, make all of the Mrs. Wages® dips and salsa according to the directions on the back of each packet.
Spoon each of the dips and the salsa into serving bowls and arrange them on a large board or platter.
To finish the ultimate snack platter, layer in all of your favorite chips and enjoy!
