Easy Crockpot Meatballs with Grape Jelly and BBQ Sauce
We’re big football fans in our house…well, at least my husband is.
And where there’s football, there’s always food!
We always have plenty game day snacks on hand, like chicken wings, homemade herb dip with veggies, and everyone’s favorite barbecue meatball recipe.
And, with the Super Bowl coming up soon, I thought I would share this recipe with you for barbecue meatballs with grape jelly.
No matter the occasion, it’s always the most requested appetizer at any family or holiday gathering!
Why You’ll Love this BBQ Grape Jelly Meatballs Recipe
If you’ve never had these crockpot grape jelly and BBQ meatballs before, then you, my friend, are seriously missing out!
While these are similar to the classic meatballs made with chili sauce and grape jelly, I think that using BBQ sauce instead adds a touch more sweetness.
And, in my opinion, this version of the recipe is even better!
So what makes these crock pot barbecue meatballs the best?
Besides the fat that they’re super easy to make and always a crowd favorite, the secret’s in the sauce.
Made with Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce and grape jelly, this barbecue meatballs recipe is the perfect combination of savory and sweet.
Yum!

Ingredients for The Best BBQ Crock Pot Meatballs
- 32 ounces frozen fully cooked meatballs
- 18 ounces grape jelly
- 18 ounces BBQ sauce (I prefer to use the Sweet Baby Ray’s brand, but any BBQ sauce will work.)
Equipment Needed
How to Make Grape Jelly BBQ Meatballs
Step 1: Mix the Grape Jelly and BBQ Sauce
To begin, add the grape jelly and the BBQ sauce to a large mixing bowl and stir until the two are combined.
This sweet and tangy mixture is what gives the barbecue crockpot meatballs their delicious flavor!
Step 2: Dump Meatballs in Your Crockpot
Next, dump your frozen meatballs in the crockpot and turn it on high.
If you’ve got a favorite recipe for homemade meatballs, feel free to use those instead of store-bought ones.
But honestly, part of what makes this recipe so great is how easy it is to just open a bag and toss them right into your slow cooker!
Step 3: Pour in the Sauce Mixture
Then, pour the BBQ sauce mixture over the meatballs.
Stir until all the meatballs are evenly coated in the sauce.
Step 4: Cook and Enjoy!
Cook your crockpot barbecue meatballs on high for 3 hours or until they are warmed all the way through.
And that’s it!
Just dump, stir and let ’em go.
It doesn’t get much easier than that, right?
The meatballs are best served warm, and leftovers can be easily reheated.
Just store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days.
What to Pair with Your Crockpot Barbecued Meatballs
For the Super Bowl, pair these BBQ crockpot meatballs with a warm cheesy shrimp dip, and a jalapeno popper cheese ball for a game-winning combo.
You could also serve them alongside buffalo chicken dip, cheesy nachos, potato skins, sliders, or a fresh veggie platter with creamy herb dip.
Add a chip and dip platter with fresh homemade salsa, and you’ve got a spread everyone will love!
These meatballs are also perfect for a basketball watch party during March Madness, a fall football tailgate, or a potluck party for work, school, or church.
Try pairing them with classics like homeade air fyer pizza rolls, bacon-wrapped little smokies, or a hearty seven-layer dip.
They’re versatile enough to fit any occasion and will always be a hit!

Has anyone made this with Ikea meatballs and lingonberry spread?

Our closest Ikea is over 4 hours away, so I’ve never tried it, but I bet it would be amazing.
