Welcome To The Blogger’s Best Spring Home Tour
This week I am excited to be joining a group of 30 bloggers for the Blogger’s Best Spring Home Tour. The tour is hosted by Mansa at This Is Simplicite and Kelly at The Tattered Pew. If you are visiting from Robyn at Robyn’s French Nest, welcome! I am so glad you are here. My name is Jen. I am a wife, mom of two, lifelong Nebraskan, and the creative voice behind Midwest Life and Style. Here at MWLS, you’ll find a little bit of everything, including affordable home decor, DIYs, made from scratch recipes, and inspiration for everyday living.
Simple And Fresh Spring Home Tour
Signs of spring are slowly starting to emerge here in the Midwest. And, after our last blast of winter a few weeks ago, I couldn’t be more excited! Goodbye to gray and gloomy days, and hello to sunny skies and warmer weather. Join me as I say welcome to spring with my simple and fresh spring home tour.
The Entry
Welcome to our home! Our entry area may be small, but since it is the first view that greets you when you walk through the door, it is always one of the first spaces that I like to decorate each season.
This spring, I kept my decor simple and fresh with just a few bunnies and a mix of both real and faux greenery. You can see how I used both to add a pop of color to my vintage dresser.
This dresser has been such a great addition to our front entry. It is a Goodwill find that I transformed last spring and one of my favorite DIY makeovers to date. You wouldn’t believe what it used to look like! If you would like to see the before, you can read more about my vintage dresser makeover [HERE].
Here is the entry area from another view and a little peek at my spring garden tablescape.
I kept my shelf styling in the front entry simple too, with a denim jacket and a hanging basket filled with a lavender bunch. Above the shelf, I hung my antique market canvas and added a bit more greenery. I love how quick and easy this look was to create, and it is neutral enough that I can leave it up all spring.

The Dining Room
If you are a regular visitor here at MWLS, you know by now how much joy I find in decorating our dining room table for each of the holidays. Recently, I shared how I styled our table for Easter with some burlap and bunnies.
This month, I am teaming up with some more blogging friends to share my newest spring tablescape as part of a monthly supper club blog series. Here is another little peek at my spring garden table.
I created this spring centerpiece for our dining room table using my DIY spring planter nestled in a wooden box with some Spanish moss and flower pots.
The box was rescued from a barn on my grandparent’s farm some years ago. It has made the rounds throughout our home, but I was never quite sure how to display it.
I think this is the perfect solution, don’t you? It was meant to be, and I am so happy to have a special piece of my grandparent’s farm in our home.
A Spring Brunch
The buffet is styled and ready for a spring brunch, thanks to some beverage dispensers and jadeite dishes.
I also added a tiered tray styled with some nests, eggs, and a bunny tin. Isn’t the bunny just the sweetest?
Above the buffet is another vintage find. My leaded window. I spotted it several years ago at a local antique store while shopping with my mom. It was love at first sight, and I knew right away that it had to come home with me.
I dressed up the window for spring with a simple lavender garland and a DIY paper banner that I made using craft twine, a bunny-shaped cookie cutter, and some pages from an old hymnal.
The window is a great conversation piece and a perfect match for my old porch corbels. You might remember the special story behind my corbels from past home tours, but if not, you can read more about them [HERE].

Crissy says
Your whole dining area is just gorgeous, Jen! That dresser was a major score. I actually started clicking around on your blog because I was fascinated by your centerpiece and had to figure out if that was a real plant and then how you painted the planter. Ha! I see we like the same Pottery Barn bunnies. Aren’t they fun? Pinning!
midwestlifeandstyle says
Thank you, Crissy! Yes, the plant is a hyacinth that I scored from the floral department at my local grocery store. It is so pretty now that it is fully bloomed and it has made my whole dining room smell amazing!! And yes, those bunnies are popular but so darn cute. I think I need to get some more for other areas of my home. Happy spring to you!
Kelly Radcliff says

Jen, your home is so beautiful and I loved every detail of your Spring tour! I couldn’t help but click through to see what your entry dresser looked like before and wow, what a bad paint job! You restored it so nicely and it looks so good with those cup pulls! Your tablescapes are always a favorite of mine!
midwestlifeandstyle says
Thank you, Cindy! I’m so glad you checked out the before of the dresser. Wasn’t that black paint icky? I knew there was a hidden treasure underneath it all. It was a lot of hard work to restore it, but so worth it. And I’m glad you enjoy my tablescapes. They are one of my favorite things to create 🥰
Cecilia says

Paula says
I so much enjoy visiting your blog to see how you have decorated for the season. Your dining room looks wonderful. I love the box that came from your grandparent’s farm and how you styled it on your table. Your leaded window is another piece that I really like. My mom and I were at Black Dog Salvage in Roanoke, VA last weekend admiring similar windows. Adding a lavender garland along with a book page bunny garland makes the window look so festive for spring.
midwestlifeandstyle says
Thank you so much, Paula. I appreciate your kind comments and I am so happy that you enjoyed touring my spring home. Aren’t those windows so pretty? I’m so happy I found mine when I did. I feel like it is the perfect wall decor for above my buffet.
Aliya says
Jen!! I love your crate from your grandparents barn!! Love it! Love it!! Love it!! Truly I can’t get enough. So if you want you can go ahead and continue moving it around and continue taking more and more pictures of it cause I’ll never get tired of seeing it!! Also LOVE your bunny tin!!! Can’t wait for supper club tomorrow!
midwestlifeandstyle says
Ha! I’ll see what I can do. I’m so glad you love the crate. I don’t know why I have never thought to use it like this before, but I’m so glad I am getting to highlight it. It is such a special piece to me. Especially since my grandpa passed away a few years ago. We were close and I miss him dearly. Thanks for stopping by today. Happy spring, friend!
