Hello, friends, and welcome to the bloggers’ best spring home tour. As always, thank you to my dear friend, Kelly from The Tattered Pew, for being our host.
Welcome To The Bloggers’ Best Spring Home Tour
Today, I am happy to join four friends who have opened up their homes to you to share how they say hello to spring. Each day, more friends will join the tour, with almost 30 bloggers who will share ideas and inspiration with you throughout the week.
All of the home tours are linked below. I hope you will take some time over the next few days to stop by and say “hi” to each of my friends.
Greetings From The Midwest
To those of you are have joined me from Kathy at Up To Date Interiors, thanks so much for taking some time to stop by.
If this is your first time at MWLS, let me take a quick minute to introduce myself. I’m Jen. I’m a born and raised Midwest gal who plans events by day and bakes, crafts and blogs by night.
I live here in Nebraska with my husband and two daughters. When I’m not busy shuttling our girls to sports practice or the dance studio, I love to share my creative talents with you here on the blog. From helpful decor tips to seasonal decor, simple DIYs, homemade recipes, and more. I share it all!
Now it’s time to get cozy, grab a cup filled with your favorite drink, and join me as I share my light and airy spring home tour.
Light And Airy Spring Home Tour
Home tours are some of my favorite posts to share and read! I love to sneak a peek into the homes of some of my friends throughout the year. I always come away feeling so inspired.
My sincere hope is that my light and airy home tour inspires you too by showing you some simple ways you can incorporate spring decor in your home.
Our Entry
Last year’s spring home tour incorporated hints of purple with garden-inspired accents, and my favorite “springy” decor item, bunnies.
There is still an abundance of bunnies in our home this year. But when it came time to choose a color scheme for spring, I opted for a more light, airy, and neutral look with a palette that includes tans, creams, grays, and blues.
Right inside our entry is one of my favorite pieces of furniture. I rescued and refurbished this vintage dresser a few years ago. (You can read all about my DIY dresser transformation to see what she looked like before.)
I love to pair vintage decor with newer items, and this spring vignette is a little bit of both. The sign is from one of my fellow Midwest friends, Brittany, at Currently Chic Boutique.
Next to the sign, I added a small clock with a cloche, a distressed bunny, and a faux fern for just a hint of color.
This vintage typewriter has made the rounds in our home, but I love it most when it’s styled here on the dresser. I feel like the two pieces are meant to be together, don’t you think?
I adore the typewriter, but when I first placed it on the dresser, it looked s bit bland next to the rest of my spring decor. Like something was missing.
I tucked a few vintage postcards into the typewriter. Then I draped a bundle of gorgeous cream-colored tulips from Afloral over the edge to add a pop of spring. If you’re in the market for faux flowers, Afloral has the best selection. Sadly, the cream tulips have already sold out, but I linked some similar tulips here.
Our DIY Dropzone
We don’t have a mudroom in our home, so this makeshift dropzone on the other side of the entry is a close at it gets. Although it gets used for decor more than it gets used for hanging up coats and backpacks.
A mom can always dream, right?
I like to keep things simple. Ya know…just in case someone gets crazy and decides to use the coat hooks for coats.
A woven basket, spring stems, and a denim coat dress up the space just enough to make it feel fresh and ready for the season.

Our Dining Room
Just off of the entry is our dining room. The prior owners used it for a second family room. When we moved in, we added a chandelier and converted it into a dining space. And I’m so glad we did.
We have a dine-in kitchen where we eat most of our meals. It’s the perfect size for our little family of four. But when we have guests over, it’s nice to have extra space that we can use to spread out and entertain.
I’ll be sharing more of our dining room and my newest tablescape later this week. But for now, here’s a sneak peek at our table all dressed up for Easter.
Do you spy my bunny napkins? You won’t believe how easy they are to make!
You can read my tutorial on how to fold bunny ear napkins and make some for your table this spring.

Our Living Room
Our living room is making its blog debut as part of my spring home tour.
I’ve shied away from sharing this space in the past for a few reasons. One. In part, because our living room is incredibly hard to photograph.
The space is long and narrow. Combined with limited natural light, it presents more than a few challenges.
But, I’m embarrassed to admit the biggest reason has nothing to do with the size or the lack of lighting. The truth is, I’ve never felt the space was “blog-worthy”.
It sounds so silly when I say it out loud. At the end of the day, our house is cozy and lived in. We’ll always have a list of things we want to update or fix in our home.
And, for every newly remodeled room or seemingly perfectly styled space that you see, there is always a project (or ten in my case) that is waiting to be finished.
All of that to say, I hope this room still inspires you and helps you learn to love all of the spaces in your home (whatever stage they may be in), just as I am learning to do.

Our Bedroom
The last stop on my light and airy spring home tour is our bedroom. Our room got a bit of a refresh a few weeks ago with some new, blue bed pillows and a cozy throw.
It’s amazing how something simple like bedding can give a room a whole new look. The vintage print pillows were a clearance find from my local Kirkland’s. There were two left in the store, and as soon I saw them, I knew they’d be perfect in our room.
In the wall pockets above our bed, I added a few olive branch stems.
And it wouldn’t be a home tour here at MWLS, if our kitty, Chloe, didn’t make an appearance. Our bed is her favorite spot to curl up and nap.

My living room is the hardest room to take pics in, too: too dark:( Lighting is always a challenge. Your home is lovely in it’s fresh and bright Spring look! I noticed a couple of vintage cameras there, to go with the awesome typewriter and leaded glass window-great new/old combo!
