I’ve been planning my fall decor for a few weeks now. And with September just around the corner, I’m ready to start decorating! This season is about so much more than just pumpkins, and plaids, so today I’m sharing my fall design board and a few tips for adding some comfy-cozy vibes to your own home. I hope it helps to inspire you to get ready for the fall.

The Color Palette
For this year’s fall decor, I drew my inspiration from the warm, rich tones found in nature. You’ll find lots of deep oranges, shades of browns, creams, and golds sprinkled throughout my home. I do like to use a mix of neutrals in my decor, but there is just something about these traditional fall colors that make me feel all the feels.
My Fall Mood Board
I’m a BIG visual person. So, after I settled on a color scheme, I created my fall design board. Design boards help me get an idea of what a space will look like ahead of time. It also helps me to take inventory of what I have and what items I want to add to my wish list. Ultimately my goal is to keep new purchases to a minimum and stick to a budget.
*Tip: Shop your home before making any new purchases. It helps to eliminate those “how did this get in my cart?” moments and cuts back on unnecessary spending.
My design board is filled with fall florals, warm brass tones, and a lot of texture. I am in love with [THIS] wreath, and I just snagged several gorgeous faux fall stems during a sale. I can’t wait to show you how I use them in my home!
Now that I’ve shared my design board, I’m going to give you a few tips to make your home comfy-cozy for the fall.
How To Add Cozy Fall Decor To Your Home
Chunky knit throws are one of my go-to’s for cozy fall decor. [THIS] creamy knit throw is the perfect blanket to snuggle up with on those cool fall evenings, and [THIS] orange throw is an inexpensive and simple way to add a pop of color to your home for the season.
And, of course, you can never have too many throw pillows (or at least that is what I tell my husband). Pillows help to soften a space and are a perfect way to add colors and patterns. Don’t be afraid to mix and match. When possible, I also prefer to buy pillow covers like [THIS], [THIS], and [THIS]. Not only are they less expensive, but they are also easier to store when you are ready to switch them out and pack them away.
Tips To Add In Texture
Texture is another great way to add cozy fall vibes to your home. I love to mix in a variety of different pieces like glass, wood, metal, and even greenery. Some of my favorite pieces to use are items like [THIS] dough bowl and brass candlesticks like [THESE]. Baskets like [THESE] are also beautiful, and a great way to store extra pillows and blankets (or to hide all of that unwanted clutter).
