Make Your Porch Merry: Creative Red and White Christmas Decorations
A classic red and white color scheme is such a cheerful way to start the holiday magic right at your front door.
Even in a small space like our itty bitty front porch, a few thoughtful touches can add a lot of Christmas spirit without feeling crowded!
To decorate our porch for Christmas, I always begin with a welcoming Christmas wreath like this simple evergreen one.
I simply add a plaid red bow and use a magnetic wreath hanger to securely attach my favorite gold bells to dress it up a bit.
It’s an easy way to bring in that classic holiday charm instantly!
Then, I like to add small planters of fresh evergreens or mini trees decorated with red berries and snow-flocked pinecones for a pop of greenery.
Finally, a cozy doormat completes the look, and a string of vintage-looking Christmas lights draped around the door adds a soft holiday glow.
These small, festive touches bring so much joy to a porch and help set the scene for a merry holiday season from the moment you arrive home.
Festive First Impressions: Red and White Christmas Ideas for Your Entryway
Our entryway also doubles as a formal dining room and sets the tone for our red and white Christmas decor theme.
With no dedicated mudroom, this area ends up catching everything—backpacks, coats, winter gear, you name it.
But when it’s tidied up, I love decorating this space for each season, and Christmas is a favorite!
I bring in plenty of greenery and garlands, adding more of those same frosted berries I used in my Christmas porch pots.
Cozy staples like chunky knits, a creamy white blanket, and a red throw pillow add warmth, and a classic plaid blanket pulls everything together.
I love the nostalgic charm that vintage holiday pieces bring, and I enjoy blending both classic and modern decor throughout our home.
Neutral decor like the ice skates hanging on the shelf can also easily transition from holiday to winter decor, so I can enjoy them even after Christmas is over.
For a bit of extra cheer, I brought the red and white theme up the stairs with bows made from red and white ticking stripe ribbon and another set of festive gold bells.
I also have a soft spot for these vintage Christmas postcards, so I like to weave them into my decor each season.
A few tucked into a mailbox with sprigs of greenery add just the right touch of old-fashioned holiday charm.
Trimming Your Tree: Christmas Trees with Red and White Decorations
It’s no secret that Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year.
So you probably won’t be surprised to learn that we have more than one Christmas tree in our home.
In fact, we have three trees!
We always have an artificial Christmas tree in the dining room and a fresh-cut one from a local tree farm in the living room.
But the tree I love the most might just be this flocked tree in our bedroom.
I decorate our Christmas tree with a cheerful mix of red and white decorations, including ticking stripe ball ornaments paired with traditional glass ornaments for a classic touch.
I also tuck a few vintage glass Santa ornaments into cozy mini white stockings, to add a festive feel.
After I hang all the ornaments, I fill in the rest of the tree with red and white ticking stripe ribbons twisting and tucking loops between the branches.
And, to finish it off, I place a few picks of frosted red holiday berries, for an extra touch of holiday color.
I’ll wrap up by sharing this view of our bedroom all dressed up for the holidays—it’s my favorite!
There’s really nothing like the warm glow of lights on a beautifully decorated frosted Christmas tree.
Cozy Up Your Fireplace: Festive Red and White Decorating Ideas for Your Mantel
Our fireplace is the heart of our living room, where we love to spend a lot of time during the holidays.
We really enjoy snuggling up in our living room at night, soaking in the soft glow of the lights. (P.s. You can see more of our cozy living room and candlelight home tour here.)
There’s nothing better than turning on the fire, curling up on the couch to watch our favorite Christmas movies, and enjoying some holiday snacks.
Since our mantel is narrow and the TV is right above the fireplace, I like to keep our Christmas mantel decor pretty simple.
I like to start with my favorite faux garland because it looks so realistic.
I use these garlands throughout our home and I can honestly say they are worth every penny!
For some extra holiday sparkle, I weave a strand of twinkle lights into the garland, which adds to the magical holiday feeling.
And, to create some texture and depth, I often include extras like pinecones and twigs, along with frosted red berries that perfectly tie in with the red and white Christmas theme.
On the mantel, I also love to display a large wooden holiday sign featuring my absolute favorite hymn, ‘Mary, Did You Know.’
Not only does it add a festive touch, but it also cleverly covers up some of the unsightly cords from the TV!
Of course, it wouldn’t be a mantel without some stockings!
The chunky white knit stockings are a classic touch, and I love to personalize them with monogram pins or ribbons, along with a sprig of greenery.
All the simple red and white Christmas decorations tie together to create a cozy and festive feel that really warms up our living space for the holidays.
Gather Around: Festive Red and White Christmas Table Decorations
Setting a festive holiday table is easier than you might think!
I was inspired to create this fun gingerbread tablescape using simple red and white ticking stripe fabric that adds a touch of holiday cheer to the table.
And the best part—it fits right in with the white and red Christmas decorations throughout the rest of the entryway, making everything feel cozy and put together.
Whether you’re hosting a holiday brunch or just want to make Christmas dinner a little more special, this playful setup adds warmth and charm!
Using a mix of materials like cozy fabric placemats, rustic twig chargers, and white stoneware plates is the perfect way to create a beautiful layered look.
Simple gold flatware brings elegance to the table setting and enhances the nostalgic holiday theme.
For the final touch, I used twine to tie small gold bells around each napkin.
Or you can make your own holiday napkin rings in less than 10 minutes.
Of course, I can’t forget about my favorite part of the table—this adorable gingerbread centerpiece!
I took inspiration from a similar red and white Christmas centerpiece I saw on Pinterest
But, instead of using a real baked gingerbread house, I upcycled a thrifted Christmas village, painting it to look like gingerbread.
I placed it in a glass jar, tied it with red and white striped ribbon, and added some faux snow and bottle brush trees to complete the look.

Glad you reposted this! I was just mulling over what to do for Christmas this year. I know, it’s a little late. But, you reminded me of the one and only year I did a Peppermint Tree and we all loved it! I typically go all natural with just lights or with white and silver because our home is a mish-mash of color that isn’t that conducive to a lot of other color besides neutrals but for some reason I’m craving a bit more color this year. I think you’ve convinced me! Thanks Jen!
