Skip the long lines at Starbucks and make your own rich and creamy peppermint mocha at home with this easy crockpot recipe!
Easy Rich And Creamy Crockpot Peppermint Mocha
Some people count down the days until pumpkin spice latte season, but not me! Amongst my friends, I’m the odd woman out when it comes to a love for pumpkin-flavored coffee in my cup. I just can’t do it.
So I’m thankful for the change of seasons when it’s out with PSL and in with my favorite holiday beverage, peppermint mocha!
It’s a running joke in our house this time of year that we need more fridge space so I can stock up on all of the peppermint mocha flavored creamer. And I do love to add a splash (or ten) in my coffee mug every day.
But the creamer isn’t quite the same as a mocha from Starbucks or any of my favorite local coffee shops. This super simple crockpot recipe is a great alternative.
So next time you’re in the mood for a cup of some holiday cheer, skip the long lines at the drive-thru, save a few bucks and give this slow cooker peppermint mocha a try.
Ingredients for Easy Rich And Creamy Crockpot Peppermint Mocha
- 10 cups strong brewed coffee
- 4 cups milk (I used skim milk to cut down on calories, but the highter the fat content, the creamier the mocha)
- 2 packets hot cocoa mix
- 1 1/2 teaspoons peppermint extract (add more if desired)
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
Instructions for Easy Rich And Creamy Crockpot Peppermint Mocha
First, start by brewing some strong coffee. When the coffee is ready, pour it into a slow cooker and stir in the milk, hot cocoa mix, and peppermint extract.
Then add the chocolate chips, stir and cover the crockpot. Cook it on low for about two hours, and stir the peppermint mocha often to mix the chocolate chips as they melt.
How To Serve Peppermint Mocha
Create a hot cocoa bar for a fun and festive way to serve your peppermint mocha.
When the mocha is ready, pour it into some coffee cups and garnish with whip cream or other toppings like crushed candy canes and chocolate drizzle.
This is the cozy hot cocoa bar I styled last year. It was a lot of fun to create, and I’m honestly not sure who loved it more. Me or my girls. Maybe I should set it up again this year. What do you think?

How to Reheat The Peppermint Mocha
You can store any leftover crockpot peppermint mocha in an airtight container in the fridge.
When you’re ready to enjoy another cup, pour the cold mocha into a medium saucepan. Warm the mocha over medium-low heat and stir often until it is heated through. Then pour the mocha into some mugs, top with whipped cream and enjoy!
Pretty easy, right? It’s the perfect drink to enjoy while you snuggle up by the fire and watch Christmas movies. (If I do say so myself.)

I’m with you on not being a fan of pumpkin spice lattes. I am one of the rare people who only visits Starbucks in an airport and only if I am desperate for caffeine. I can’t wait to try your crockpot peppermint mocha recipe. I’m printing it out right now!
