Easy Breakfast Sausage Crescent Rolls For The Holidays
Most years, we travel to see family for the holidays.
Which means Christmas morning resembles something like the scene out of Home Alone when Kevin’s family realizes they’ve overslept.
Can you picture it?
Okay…so maybe that’s a bit dramatic.
We certainly aren’t rushing to catch a plane to Paris.
But more bodies equal more chaos.
And with a lot of hungry mouths to feed, easy, no-fuss foods are a must.
Enter the breakfast sausage crescent roll (or as my girls like to call it, “breakfast sausage pigs in a blanket”).

How to Make Holiday Breakfast Sausage Crescent Rolls
Step 1: Cook Your Sausages
First, preheat your oven to 375℉ and lightly spray two baking sheets with non-stick cooking spray.
Then, while your oven warms up, prepare the sausage links.
I used Jimmy Dean heat ‘n serve precooked original-flavored sausage links, but any brand will work.
Heat the sausages according to the directions on the package.
Once they are hot, blot off any excess grease, and let the sausage links cool for a few minutes before wrapping them in the crescent roll dough.
Step 2: Wrap the Sausages in Crescent Rolls
Next, separate the crescent roll dough into triangles.
I used the Pillsbury brand, but again, any variety will work!
Place one sausage link on each triangle, and then start from the tip of the triangle, and wrap the dough around the sausage link.
Repeat this step until each sausage link is wrapped in dough.
Use a basting brush to gently brush melted butter on top of each crescent roll and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
Step 3: Bake Your Breakfast Sausage Crescent Rolls
Bake the breakfast sausage crescent rolls for 12-15 minutes; or until the crescents are golden brown.
Let them cool for 3-5 minutes on the pan, and then plate and serve while warm.
Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!
I highly suggest dipping them in maple syrup.
The savory and sweet combination takes these holiday breakfast sausage crescent rolls over the top!
But if you prefer to skip the syrup, they’re just as delicious without it.
How to Store Leftovers
To store your leftover breakfast sausage crescent rolls let them cool completely, then place them in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
For longer storage, you can freeze them for up to a month.
To defrost your frozen breakfast sausage rolls, just pop them in the fridge overnight.
When you’re ready to reheat, warm them up in a 350°F oven until they’re hot and the pastry is nice and crispy.
For a quicker option, try an air fryer—it’ll heat them up faster and make them extra crispy!

I was wondering if you think using a spoonful of cooked crumbled breakfast sausage could work instead of the links?
midwestlifeandstyle says
Hi Lorie, I think you could absolutley try! I haven’t done it myself, but I have seen different recipes that use cooked, crumbled breakfast sausage instead. If you try it, I’d love to hear how it turns out!

Hi Jen!
These look delicious, but is there any way to start them the night before? I worry about them either being soggy or the dough not rising properly.
Thanks so much!
midwestlifeandstyle says
Hi Sally,
I used store-bought crescent rolls in the tube, so there is not need for them to rise. If you’d like, you can brown the sausages in advance to save some time. I’ve only ever made them the day of since it’s such a quick recipe to pull-together, but I’d think could certainly prep them the night before. Just make sure to cover your pan with plastic wrap to prevent the dough from drying out.
I hope that helps!
