A Rustic And Elegant Christmas Color Scheme: How To Decorate With Green And Gold
Thanksgiving has come and gone, and the holiday season is officially in full swing! I’ve been a busy elf working behind the scenes on this year’s holiday decor. So, how about a sneak peek of what you’ll see this year?
This Christmas, I embraced a rustic and elegant theme that blends natural elements like dried oranges and pinecones with pops of green with gold and copper metallic accents.
Read on to see some of my inspiration behind this year’s Christmas theme and tips for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that will make your home feel cozy and festive all season long.
Rustic And Elegant Christmas Color Palette
Most years, I love to use traditional Christmas colors in my decor. My very first holiday home tour was inspired by a timeless color scheme of red and gold with hints of plaid sprinkled throughout.
The following year, I decorated our home for Christmas using wintry hues of navy blue and green with tartan plaid accents.
And, last year I shared our gingerbread-themed themed holiday home tour with a classic red and white Christmas color palette.
And while I still have a soft spot for all things red and white when it comes to Christmas this year, I wanted to try something a bit different.
With rustic accents and pops, of green, gold, and copper, these stunning Christmas images stole my heart.
These beautiful photos were the starting point for my Christmas decorations this year, some of which I’ve already shared with you.
Recently, I showed you my rustic-inspired Christmas tablescape and two DIY projects made with dried oranges, including a holiday centerpiece with hurricane candle holders and Christmas chair wreaths.
I’ll be sharing even more soon with this year’s holiday home tour, but for now, here is a preview.
Using Rustic Green And Gold Accents In Your Christmas Decor
Here are a few tips for adding rustic green and gold touches to your Christmas decor:
- Use natural materials like greenery, pinecones, dried oranges, and cinnamon sticks.
- Add accents of gold, with decor such as ornaments, velvet ribbon, candle holders, or mercury glass votives
- Keep your decor simple and understated. Rustic elegance is all about creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
- Incorporate vintage pieces into your decor like brass candlesticks, old skates, stacks of books, or mercury glass ornaments. This will add a touch of character and charm.
- Or, you can make your own dried orange ornaments to add a personal touch to your decor.
No matter how you decorate, I hope these tips help you create festive and cozy spaces throughout your home this holiday season.
