Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy Saturday, friends!
You may have noticed an extra email in your inbox on Thursday evening. Sometimes I don’t know what day it is, but I do know Easter is over. Oops!
I wish I could blame it on technology, but the error was all mine. The last thing I want to do is add to the clutter in your inbox. I’ve even tried to cut back on the number of emails I send to you each week.
It’s not the first mistake I’ve made, and it certainly won’t be the last. All of that to say, thank you for giving me grace and having a sense of humor regarding my “oopsie.”
And now, here’s a recap of everything you may have missed this week at MWLS.
Tidbits From Home
We’re still getting over sicky germs here, so it was a pretty low-key week at home. This means today’s recap will be short and sweet!
We finally have some nice weather, so this weekend I plan to clean out the garage (with some help from my handy hubby, of course).
We’ve both been dreading this project for a while, but as you can see, it’s long overdue. It’s time to stop dragging our feet and tackle the disaster.
We’ll be doing a lot of purging, some painting, and adding a few new storage pieces.
Here’s a rough draft of our plans. Fingers crossed that all goes well. I’ll be sharing updates of our progress over on Instagram, so stay tuned!
My Favorite Finds
This home decor book is currently in my shopping cart. I’ve heard so many good things about it. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy.
This warming smart mug is high on my wish list too along with this monogram pendant necklace.
This Week at MWLS
This week was all about Mother’s Day. On Thursday, I shared my latest gift guide with ideas to help celebrate all of the special moms in your life. Just click on the post linked below to see all of my picks.
20 Gift Ideas For Mom This Mother’s Day

This year’s gift guide includes a mix of items and a wide variety of price points. I’m sure you’ll find something that’s perfect for all of the moms on your shopping list.
What’s Coming Next
Next week I’m teaming up with my friends from Supper Club to share the latest installment in our monthly blog series. Stop by on Thursday to see my newest tablescape. Then be sure to join me again on Saturday for a brand new dessert recipe. It’s simple, refreshing, and delish. You won’t want to miss out!

Personalized Door Mat
How cute is this personalized door mat from Leslie at Feet Under My Table?
It’s such a fun way to add a unique touch to your front porch. And I confess, the message on the bottom made me giggle just a bit.
Stop by Leslie’s blog to see how she made her mat and get more ideas to personalize one of your own.
Lemon Strawberry Shortcakes
I love the combination of lemon and fresh berries, especially in the spring in summer. I can’t wait to try this recipe for lemon strawberry shortcakes from Sammi at Happi Homemade.
It looks absolutely divine!

Trust me, I’ve made several “oopsies” on the blog and newsletters Jen. Good luck with the garage cleaning project. This could be my least favorite chore to do but it must be done, right? Loving your Mother’s Day gift ideas. Thank you so much for sharing my low-maintenance perennial post, my friend. I really appreciate it.

Thank you, Kim. Yes, it’s not a fun chore, but definitely a much-needed one. It will be worth it when we’re done. And you are so welcome. Thank you for sharing all of your flower planting tips. I can’t wait to add a few of your suggestions to my beds.
