Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy Saturday, friends, and happy April. It’s time for another edition of the week in rewind. So get cozy, settle in, and let’s catch up!
Here’s a recap of everything you may have missed this week at MWLS.
Tidbits From Home
March came in like a lamb, so naturally, it went out like a lion. It’s been so chilly here all week. We even woke up to a dusting of the white stuff on Thursday!
Thankfully it looks like spring temps will be returning this weekend. 60 degrees and sunny is my kind of weather!
In more good news. The trees are starting to bud here. I hope that means my spring flowers aren’t too far behind.
Track season also kicks off this weekend for Peyton. She hurt her knee in volleyball practice a few weeks ago, so we’re all a bit nervous about today’s meet.
She’s been resting and icing it as much as possible between all of her practices, but she still has some pain. Prayers and positive vibes for a successful meet and a pain-free weekend are welcomed.
My Favorite Finds
Now that the calendar has flipped to April, I realized that Easter is only two weeks away. Whaaaat?!?
Easter is one of those holidays that tends to sneak up on me. Every year I have the best of intentions to plan ahead. And, yet, every year I’m frantically scrambling to find things to fill my girls’ baskets.
This year, we’ll be in Kansas City for a volleyball tournament. So not planning ahead is not going to fly.
For my teen, Peyton, I’m loving these Hydroflask stickers, this hooded blanket, and this phone stand.
And for my 8-year-old, Harper, these bath bombs, this jewelry kit, and this mini nail polish set would all be perfect gifts to fill her basket.
If you need some ideas for Easter basket gifts this year, you can check out more of my picks for boys and girls of all ages [HERE].
This Week at MWLS
It was a bit of a slower week here on the blog, but I did share a brand new budget-friendly DIY. In case you missed it, you can read more below.
Kitchen Table Makeover
At first glance, our small kitchen table looks unassuming. But, if this table could talk.
Oh the stories, I bet it could tell.
At almost 100 years old, the table holds a lot of sentimental value for Kirk and I. And not just because it’s a family heirloom.
But, the dark wood stain made the table look dull and dated. Which doesn’t match the light, airy, and modern cottage style I love. And, since we didn’t want to replace it, we decided to paint it.
See how I gave our kitchen table a makeover and read more about what makes it so special.
(Oh, and get my secret tip for saving money on paint, too!)
What’s Coming Next
Next week I have another easy spring craft to share with you that’s perfect for inside or outside. Join me on Thursday for all of the details.
