Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy Saturday, friends, and welcome to the first edition of Week in Rewind with Midwest Life and Style!
Week in Rewind is a new weekly blog series. Each weekend I’ll share random tidbits and happenings from home, a recap of all of my latest blog posts, links to some of my favorite finds from the week, and ideas and inspiration from around the web.
Tidbits From Home
Here at home, my husband and the girls are officially on spring break for the next week. My youngest is excited to lounge in pj’s all day and have a break from math homework.
Meanwhile, my oldest is currently with her class on a six-day trip to Washington D.C. She left early yesterday and will return home late next week. Their itinerary includes stops at the Holocaust Museum, Arlington National Cemetery, and the many memorials along the National Mall.
I went on a similar trip over twenty years ago as a high schooler. To this day, it’s one of my favorite experiences. I’m so excited for her and can’t wait to hear all about it when she gets back.
Oh, and I can’t forget my husband. He’s THRILLED to help me clean out and organize the garage on his “break” so we can finish up our latest home project. (Thank you, hubby!)
I’ll share more about our garage project soon, but for now, here’s the rest of my week in rewind.
My Favorite Finds
This week I’ve been busy adding finishing touches all around the house to get ready for my upcoming spring home tour. In the past, my home tour has included bright pops of color. But, this season, I am more drawn to neutrals such as tans, grays, and blues.
Our bedroom is getting a mini-refresh for the tour, so these shams, this pillow, and this cozy throw all found their way into my cart.
I’ve had my eye on this basket for quite some time. I finally pulled the trigger and grabbed it the other day when I was in Target. It’s a great way to corral the extra pillows and blankets in our living room.
I also splurged a bit on a new glass cloche. It makes the perfect spring vignette paired with a cute bunny and some greenery.

And when that day comes, you can be sure that I’ll look to this amazing craft room makeover from my friend Crissy at First Day Of Home for ideas and inspiration. Take a peek at that beautiful floral wallpaper. I’m in love!
