How To Style Your Kitchen Counters For Spring Sponsored By Wayfair
Are you ready for spring? Lately, we’ve had some gorgeous weather that’s put me in the springtime mood. Today I’m excited to team up with my friends from Wayfair to show you how to style your kitchen counters for spring.
I like to describe our kitchen as cozy. In other words, it’s not big or fancy, or even magazine-worthy. But it’s ours. And while it’s still a work in progress, ever since we finished the first phase of our modern cottage kitchen makeover, I’ve loved finding new ways to style our counters.
All of our recent updates were cosmetic, which means our counter space is still limited. So when I think about kitchen decor, two words come to mind. The pieces need to be both functional and stylish. Wayfair has a great selection of affordable decor that checks both of those boxes for me.
Recently I shopped online and found several great pieces that are perfect for adding a pop of spring to the kitchen. Here are some of my favorite finds along with tips and inspiration for how to style them.
Bring The Outdoors In With Faux Plants
Bring the outdoors in with the addition of some faux greenery on your kitchen counters. I love to add greenery throughout our home, especially in the springtime.
I’ll be honest by saying that I’m not the best plant mom. And while I do have a few live plants around our home, I tend to prefer faux ones. Wayfair has a variety of plants to choose from in all styles and price points.
For a pop of color, I added this mixed fern plant styled with a vintage-replica bread board. The fern is large, but I like how it makes a statement. And the bread board blends in perfectly with the rest of my collection.
I like to find unique ways to style my decor. And, if you’ve followed along with me for a while, you know that I have a passion for blending the old with the new. So this vintage soup tureen makes the perfect planter for the fern.
To create visual balance and bring some height, I also added this preserved boxwood topiary.
I love how it looks, don’t you? I might order a second one to use on the mantle in our living room.
Spring Cleaning Basics For The Kitchen
I like to share the “pretty” here on the blog and my Instagram feed. DIYs and decor to leave you feeling inspired. But it’s what you don’t see that’s often just outside of the camera’s lens.
The reality is our home is well lived-in and well-loved. Which usually means there are backpacks, bags, and coats everywhere. There are large piles of laundry to be folded and put away. Floors to be scrubbed. And so and so on.
But for all of the messes, the one thing that is a must for me is a clean kitchen. For spring, I added a few cleaning basics that complement our new painted counters and tile backsplash.
Since our sink doesn’t have a built-in soap dispenser, these glass and brass jars from Wayfair are ideal. They’re a perfect size, and the brass even matches our new kitchen faucet.
And I always keep a towel handy for dishes or spills. This one comes in a set of five towels, and because the colors are neutral, you can use it all year round.
I also added this bamboo scrubber and display dish. The scrubber lasts longer than sponges and honestly looks nicer too.
Add Function And Style With Dual Purpose Decor
Remember when I said that I prefer pieces that are functional and stylish? This wood recipe book stand and porcelain colander are both.
The cookbook stand is an easy way to display some of my cookbook collection. And when I’m not using it for display purposes, it helps keep me organized while making meals.
You can use the colander to store fresh fruit like apples and pears on your counter, or it would also make a cute container for some more faux plants.
