Tidbits from Home
It’s been a busy couple of days around here! Thursday night, we hit the road and headed to Minnesota for Peyton’s first college visit.
I can hardly believe we’ve reached this point—it’s so true what they say, “the days are long, but the years are short.”
We visited Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall, and the timing couldn’t have been better.
Minnesota was absolutely stunning with the fall foliage in peak form.
While we were there, we toured the campus, and Peyton spent time with the volleyball coaches and some of the current players on the team.
To wrap up the visit, we watched a home volleyball game that doubled as a fundraiser for heart disease awareness, part of their annual Red Out event.
It was a fun (but exhausting) 36 hours!

It looks like you had an amazing trip! I’m so excited for Peyton and all that lies ahead for her! Thank you for sharing my fall simmer pot blog post. It is really looking, smelling, and feeling like fall around here now!

Thank you, Missy. We really did. It was short, but we enjoyed our visit to campus and seeing a little bit of the community. I bet your simmer pot smells incredible. Now that we’ve finally had some nice fall weather, I need to crack open the windows and grab all the ingredients so I can enjoy one at home.

How exciting for your daughter and of course a little sad for you. Minnesota is a beautiful place, glad you were able to see some of the beautiful fall foliage.
I am definitely getting ready for the holidays. I like to prepare early so that I can enjoy all of the activities and not stress.
Have a wonderful week.

Thank you, Elizabeth. Being a parent is bittersweet. We’re trying to soak up every last second we have with her here at home before she heads off to college. It will be sad for us, but I’m so happy for her and excited to see where this journey takes her. Minnesota was beautiful, and I’m excited to go back next week for another visit at a different school. I hope you are having a great week, too. Thanks for stopping by to say “hi”.

It absolutely is, and it’s very bittersweet for sure. I’m excited for her, but just a little bit sad for me. And I can’t wait to try your recipe. it looks delish!
