Just mix, spread, roll, slice, and voilà! Your festive pinwheels are ready to steal the show.
Ingredients For Cranberry And Feta Christmas Pinwheels
- One 8-ounce tub of spreadable cream cheese
- 2-3 teaspoons milk
- 1 cup sweetened dried cranberries, chopped
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 4 spinach and herb tortilla wraps
How To Make Crowd-Pleasing Christmas Pinwheel Appetizers
First, start by chopping your fresh green onion and one cup of sweetened dried cranberries.
Next, In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese and two teaspoons of milk. Use a wooden spoon to combine the cream cheese and milk until the mixture is creamy and smooth. If it seems a bit thick once combined, you can add another half teaspoon to one teaspoon of milk.
Stir in the chopped green onion, dried cranberries, and one cup of crumbled feta cheese. Mix until everything is well combined.
Spread the Christmas pinwheel filling mixture evenly onto the spinach tortillas. For perfect portions, grab a medium-sized cookie scoop (or a spoon!), but don’t stress – precision isn’t key to these festive holiday bites!
Once done, roll each tortilla up tightly, and place seam-side down on a tray or small cookie sheet. Cover the pinwheels and chill in the fridge for at least one hour.
Can You Prepare Pinwheel Appetizers The Night Before
Yes, you can absolutely prepare your Christmas pinwheel appetizers the night before!
In fact, doing so can save you precious time and stress on the big day. Once rolled, be sure to wrap your tortillas in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. This allows the flavors to meld and the filling to firm up, making it easier to slice clean, evenly-sized pinwheels.
How To Serve Your Feta And Cranberry Christmas Pinwheels
When ready to serve, grab a serrated knife for clean cuts. Carefully slice each tortilla roll into 12 even slices, placing the seam side down on your cutting board to prevent any filling from escaping.
Now it’s time to create a festive finale! Arrange your pinwheel slices on a large board or holiday platter. Get creative and arrange your pinwheel appetizers into a festive Christmas tree shape for an extra impressive display that’s sure to impress!
To garnish, add fresh springs of rosemary and use a star-shaped cookie cutter to make a cheddar cheese star for the top of your pinwheel Christmas tree.
How To Store Your Leftover Holiday Pinwheels
Leftover pinwheels? No problem! Store them in an airtight container, with a generous layer of parchment paper or wax paper between each layer to prevent sticking.
They’ll keep perfectly in the fridge for up to 2 days, ready to steal the show again at your next gathering.
