Everything Bagel Pumpkin Shaped Cheese Ball
What I love most about this cheese ball (besides how ah-mazing it tastes) is how simple it is to make.
With only five ingredients, this everything bagel pumpkin shaped cheese ball comes together in only a matter of minutes and is much easier to make than you might think.
This festive fall cheese ball recipe is perfect for serving at a Halloween party or even an elegant Thanksgiving gathering.
Ingredient For An Everything Bagel Cheese Ball
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon everything bagel seasoning (plus more to roll the finished cheese ball in)
Equipment Needed
- Mixing bowl
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- Plastic wrap
- Rubberbands
How To Make An Everything Bagel Pumpkin Cheese Ball
To begin, remove an 8-ounce block of cream cheese from the wrapper and place it in a large mixing bowl.
Let the cream cheese soften on your kitchen counter at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
Once the cream cheese is softened, pour in one teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.
Then sprinkle in one cup of shredded cheddar cheese, one-half cup of shredded Parmesan cheese, and one teaspoon of everything bagel seasoning.
Use a wooden spoon or spatula to stir the cheese ball mixture well until all of the ingredients are combined.
Directions To Make A Festive Everything Bagel Pumpkin Shaped Cheese Ball
Now it’s time for the fun part! Follow these easy step-by-step directions to make your everything bagel cheese ball.
Step 1: Prepare Your Plastic Wrap
To make your pumpkin shaped cheese ball first, cut two long pieces of plastic wrap. Lay one piece on a flat surface.
Step 2: Shape Your Cheese Ball
Spoon the everything bagel cheese ball mixture into the center of the plastic wrap and pull up the edges.
Then lay the second piece on top of the other at a diagonal so the plastic wrap makes an “x” shape.
Tighten and close the plastic wrap as you pull it, fully covering the cheese ball.
Step 3: Wrap With Rubberbands
Once the cheese ball is completely covered, use 4 rubberbands to wrap around it.
The rubberbands should overlap like shown in the photos above, and will help form the grooves to transform your regular cheese ball into a fun and festive pumpkin shape!
Step 4: Chill and Serve
When done, place the pumpkin shaped everything bagel cheese ball on a small plate and chill it in the fridge for at least 2 hours or until it’s firm.
When chilled, carefully remove the rubber bands and plastic wrap.
Gently coat the outside of your pumpkin shaped cheese ball by rolling it in a light coating of everything bagel seasoning.
Just before serving, add the stem from a small pumpkin (a faux pumpkin stem works too!) for an extra special touch.
Then you’re ready to dive in and enjoy!
What To Serve With A Cheese Ball
Usually, I like to serve my everything bagel cheese ball with different types of crackers. Some of my favorites include the variety box from Toasteds, Sea Salt and Olive Oil Flatbread crackers from Town House, and Nabisco Wheat Thins.
But, if you want to mix things up a bit, you can also try these crunchy and tasty options.
- Crostini: Homemade or store-bought crostinis offer a rustic and more upscale dipping option.
- Pretzels: Mini pretzels or pretzel crisp provide a salty and crunchy contrast to the creamy cheese ball.
- Bagel Chips: Bagel chips are another crunchy bite-sized snack that’s perfect for dipping.
- Pita Chips: Toasted pita chips, either plain or seasoned, are an excellent choice and ideal for scooping.
How To Store Your Leftover Cheese Ball
This everything bagel pumpkin shaped cheese ball tastes just as delicious the next day as the day it was made!
If you have any cheese ball left over, just remove it from your serving tray and place it in an air-tight food storage container.
You can keep it chilled in the fridge for 3-5 days. (Although experience tells me it won’t last that long!)

Hosting my first Thanksgiving in a couple of years and was looking through cookbooks for some appetizer recipes. Thank goodness for you and your pumpkin cheese ball!! Could anything be more perfect with that pumpkin shape?? So…..appetizer plate sorted! I have a stash of pumpkin stems and going to put it on a glass cake stand like you did. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, after all. Canadian Thanksgiving is October 9th so countdown to food and fun. Also printed the mini apple pies recipe and serving them with salted caramel ice cream. Again, many thanks for the perfect touch to my table and bon appetite!
