The Week In Rewind Volume 62
Happy Sunday, friends!
How was your week? I was an extra busy bee sharing four new posts here on the blog since last Tuesday.
And today makes five! It’s no wonder that I’ve been running on caffeine and adrenaline.
If you missed out on any of the action, I’ve linked everything for you below. And, as always, I’ve also rounded up some inspiring ideas and delicious recipes from a few of my friends.
So grab a refreshing summer drink, settle in, and join me for the latest week in rewind!
Tidbits From Home
Gosh, summer has zipped by. Does it feel like that to you too? School starts for Kirk and the girls in two weeks, so in between work and blogging, we’ve been busy with back-to-school prep.
Somehow Kirk and I managed to sneak in a date night on Tuesday. In this extra busy season of life, we are trying to be better about nurturing our relationship. And that means setting aside more time for just us.
We enjoyed pizza from a local Italian restaurant. And, of course, we finished the night with a trip to the dairy store for a scoop of ice cream.
This week Peyton also officially passed her driver’s test! She went from being terrified of learning to drive to begging to be the chauffeur whenever we leave home.
It’s hard to believe we’ll have another driver in the family come February. I can’t wrap my head around the idea that I’m old enough to have an almost 16-year-old.
(Although my knees are frequently quick to remind me that I’m not as young as I like to think.)

This Week On The Blog
I kicked off the week on Tuesday by joining some friends to share a bit of holiday cheer!
If you’re a fan of Christmas in July, this post is a must-read! I shared 7 festive and budget-friendly holiday centerpiece ideas.
Whether you love classic Christmas colors, warm and cozy neutrals, or something more non-traditional, I shared a variety of decorating ideas that you can easily recreate in your home this holiday season.
It was also supper club week, and for our latest party, we shared tips and ideas for hosting a peachy-keen summer dinner party.
I had so much fun styling this casual cottage-style tablescape. If you look closely, you may notice a few of my favorite details, including the DIY peach napkin rings, the mint and rattan lanterns, and my great-grandmother’s rose-patterned china.
On Friday night I put the finishing touches on my latest recipe. There’s nothing quite like the combination of sweet peaches and rich, buttery cake.
And that’s exactly what you get with this scrumptious 4-ingredient peach dump cake!
And, yesterday we wrapped up this month’s supper club party with a menu featuring 6 sweet and savory peach-inspired dishes. Each recipe is a perfect addition to any summer get-together.
On The Menu The Week of July 31 – August 4
If you need some easy dinner time inspo, here’s what’s on the menu this week.
- July 31 (Monday) – Crockpot Porkchops with Rice
- August 1 (Tuesday) – Greek Turkey Burgers with Tzatziki Sauce
- August 2 (Wednesday) – Leftovers
- August 3 (Thursday) – Grilled Chicken Parmesan with Pasta
- August 4 (Friday) – Grilled Calzones
Coming Soon To MWLS
I’ll be starting to dip my toes into fall with a round-up of my favorite florals for the season.
And, since fall means football, I’ll also be sharing a new menu filled with recipes that are perfect for tailgating season and watch parties.
I look forward to sharing all this and more inspiration for the upcoming season, so stay tuned!

What a busy week you have had Jen, I am tired just reading your post, lol. I was at Haven for several days so I am late to catching up on all of your posts. I can’t wait to read them all. I love peaches and look forward to trying some of the recipes too. Thank you for sharing my Machiatto post.
