Simple 4-Ingredient Peach Dump Cake
There’s nothing quite like the combination of sweet peaches and rich, buttery cake. And that’s exactly what you get with this scrumptious 4-ingredient peach dump cake!
And no, that’s not a typo! All you need are 4 ingredients to make this classic dessert that’s not only incredibly tasty but also incredibly easy to make.
Whether you’re a seasoned baker or a beginner in the kitchen, you’ll find joy in creating this delightful treat.
Ingredients for Peach Dump Cake
- 2 cans sliced peaches in heavy syrup (15 ozs. each)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, very thinly sliced
How to Make 4-Ingredient Peach Dump Cake
Step 1: Preheat and Prep
First, gather the ingredients and preheat your oven to 375°F.
Note: If you’re at a higher altitude you may need to increase your oven temperature slightly to help your dump cake set faster and cook more evenly.
Step 2: Layer the Peaches
Next, pour 2 cans of sliced peaches into the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish. Do not drain the syrup before adding the peaches to the dish.
Spread them heavenly and sprinkle generously with 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
Step 3: Add the Cake Mix
Evenly sprinkle one box of yellow cake mix over the peaches and use the back of a fork to gently press the cake mix down on top of the cinnamon and peach mixture.
Step 4: Add the Butter and Bake
Next, cut one stick of unsalted butter (equal to 1/2 cup) into thin slices. Arrange the thinly sliced squares of butter evenly over the peach dump cake.
Place your cake in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top turns golden brown and the peaches are bubbling around the edges.
Step 5: Cool and Serve
Once out of the oven, allow the cake to cool for a few minutes before serving.
You can serve it warm, at room temperature, or even cold, depending on your preference.
Honestly, I think it’s best enjoyed warm with a scoop of melty vanilla ice cream on top. Yum!
Ways to Serve Your Peach Dump Cake
No doubt about it – this dump cake is ah-mazing on its own. But if you’re craving a bit of extra sweetness, here are some fun ways to serve your cake and make it an indulgent treat!
- Vanilla Ice Cream: Did I mention ice cream? What can I say…it’s one of my favorite guilty pleasures. Creamy and cool vanilla ice cream pairs perfectly with this warm, gooey cake. The flavor combination is like heaven for your tastebuds!
- Whipped Cream: Adding a dollop of freshly whipped cream on top of the cake perfectly complements the cake’s richness.
- Caramel Sauce: Drizzle some caramel sauce over the cake for added decadence. Top it off with a sprinkling of chopped walnuts or pecans.
How To Store Leftovers
If you somehow find yourself with leftovers (though it’s unlikely), store them properly to enjoy the deliciousness later.
Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap or transfer the remaining cake into an airtight container.
Refrigerate the leftovers for up to 3-4 days, ensuring they retain their moisture and flavor.
When you’re ready to enjoy it again, you can either serve your cake cold or reheat it in the microwave or oven.

I made and it was good but if I make again I would either add another can of peaches or not use the entire box of cake mix. It was a tad too doughy for my husband, who then ate half the pan ha ha! He suggested more peaches. Definitely will make again.
midwestlifeandstyle says
Ha! I may or may not have eaten half the pan myself! And you can never go wrong with more peaches. Thank you for the feedback and for visiting!
