The Week In Rewind Volume 60
Happy Sunday, friends!
It’s been a bit since I’ve done a weekly recap…four weeks to be exact. I’d like to say I have a great excuse, but really there is none. This post simply slid to the bottom of my priorities amidst the busyness of summer camps and traveling.
So, starting this week, I’m making it my goal to get back into a routine. And with the long break, there is a lot to catch up on!
As always, I’m also sharing some inspiring ideas and delicious recipes from a few of my friends.
So grab your favorite summer beverage, settle in, and join me for the latest week in rewind!
Tidbits From Home
Here’s a little snapshot of what our family has been up to lately.
June Highlights
When we chatted last, Peyton was prepping for a national club volleyball tournament in Orlando, Florida. Her team had a great showing and finished in the top 25 in their division.
While we missed not watching her play in person, we stayed up-to-date with the matches online and kept in touch with Facetime and Snap Chat.
To wrap up the month of June, Kirk and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed dinner out and capped off the evening with ice cream at the dairy store on UNL’s east campus.
(We met in college so the University of Nebraska holds a special place in our hearts.)
July Highlights
July has been our month of travel! The girls and I hit the road over the holiday weekend to visit family for the Fourth of July.
I failed to get many photos, but we had a lot of fun during our visit. We played badminton, sat around the fire pit in the evenings, and soaked up all the fun family time.
The morning of the 4th started a bit rainy, but it cleared off just in time to enjoy the parade, followed by a BBQ, and fireworks!
After four short days at home, Peyton and I hopped in the car for another road trip.
This time we headed east to Cedar Falls for a volleyball camp at the University of Nothern Iowa.
We had fun exploring downtown Cedar Falls with its cute shops and restaurants.
And we got to meet up with my aunt and cousin who live nearby for dinner.
Which brings me to this weekend, and you guessed it… another road trip. We spent the weekend in Fort Collins, Colorado, to help Kirk’s dad celebrate his retirement.
It was good to see family, some of whom we hadn’t seen since our wedding 17 years ago!
After the party, the girls and I ventured out for a quick trip to our favorite ice cream shop, Walrus.
And as a bonus, I also got to sneak away yesterday morning for a coffee date with one of my best blogging friends, Kelly from The Tattered Pew.
My Favorite Finds
I’m in love with this beautiful woven storage bench.
These comfy, casual pants are my new favorites. I have them in black and green.
Fall decor is starting to pop up in stores and I couldn’t resist adding this wreath to my shopping cart.
I LOVE our Shark vacuum and this one is currently on sale!
The best realistic Christmas garland is back in stock. If you love it, don’t wait to grab it! It sells out every year long before the holiday season begins.
More Favorites From Amazon
As I’m sure you heard, this week was Amazon Prime Days. Did you snag any deals? I got a few things, including some new bedsheets and camera equipment!
Even though Prime Days are over, I’m always adding new finds to my Amazon storefront.

It’s so much fun to see how you guys are spending your summer, Jen! Sometimes the best moments are the ones you forget to capture because you’re so caught up in the moment! I could definitely hang with you guys because you eat as much ice cream as we do ha ha. It’s like we’re on a mission to find the best place in every city. Thanks so much for sharing my quarterly calendar this week, I really appreciate it. Off to dive into these fabulous links. Big hugs and thank yous, CoCo

Thank you, CoCo. It has been a busy (but fun!) summer! I was wondering if anyone else would notice my obessesion with ice cream.😂 The funny thing, I didn’t even realize that so many of our recent adventures revolved around ice cream until I was proof reading my post. What can I say…ice cream is my weakness! I’m glad I’m not alone in my ice crem obsession.
