Welcome To The 2023 Bloggers’ Best Spring Home Tour
Hello, friends, and welcome to the bloggers’ best spring home tour. Before we get started with my home tour, I want to say a big thank you to my dear friend, Kelly from The Tattered Pew, for being our host.
Today, I am happy to join four friends who have opened up their homes to you to share how they say hello to spring.
Five more friends will join the tour each day, with 30 bloggers sharing ideas and inspiration with you throughout the week.
All of the home tours are linked below. I hope you will take some time over the next few days to stop by and say “hi” to each of my friends.
Hello From Nebraska!
To those of you are have joined me from Kristin at White Arrows Home thanks so much for taking some time to stop by. I hope you enjoyed touring her beautiful Wisconsin cabin.
If this is your first time at MWLS, let me take a quick minute to introduce myself. I’m Jen. I’m a born and raised Midwest gal who plans events by day and bakes, crafts, and blogs by night.
I live here in Nebraska with my husband and two daughters. When I’m not busy shuttling our girls to sports practice or the dance studio, I love to share my creative ideas with you here on the blog.
From helpful decor tips to seasonal decor, simple DIYs, homemade recipes, and more. I share it all!
If you are not already a member of the MWLS family, I would love to have you subscribe and join me!
You will get emails and weekly updates on all the latest happenings here on the blog and on my other social channels. Plus you will get exclusive access to my full library of free printables.
But that’s enough about me. Get comfy, grab a cup filled with your favorite drink, and join me for my casual spring home tour.
Casual Spring Home Tour
I say it every time, but home tours are genuinely some of my favorite posts to share with you. I don’t know about you, but I love to sneak a peek into the homes of some of my friends throughout the year. And I always come away feeling so inspired!
Last year’s home tour incorporated lots of spring greenery with neutral accessories in shades of tan, cream, gray, and blue. And to be honest not much has changed.
Our lives have been so busy lately, that I felt the need to keep things simple this season. And I think you will see that reflected throughout the tour with how I used casual everyday home decor combined with just a few simple spring touches.
I hope this year’s comfy and casual tour inspires you by showing you some budget-friendly ways to incorporate spring decor into your home.
Now, let’s start the tour in our entry.
Our Entry
The first thing you will notice when you step into our home is that our entry isn’t much of an entry at all, but rather a small corner in our converted formal dining room.
Tiny as it may be, I enjoy decorating the entry each season to make it feel welcoming since this is the first space friends and family see when they visit.
On the front door, I hung a moss wreath that I made for Easter with some supplies from the dollar store.
To the right of our front door is the coat closet and a makeshift drop zone. Since we have no actual mudroom in our home, this little area is as close as I get to a space to help keep the clutter organized and under control.
Although decor is more likely to be hanging from the hooks of my shelf than coats or backpacks. Those tend to end up on the stairs, tossed over random chairs, or just dropped in the middle of the floor (I’m sure I’m not the only mom to ever experience this…but I digress.)
And I can’t talk about our entry without sharing my favorite piece of furniture. I rescued and refurbished this vintage dresser a few years ago.
You can read all about my DIY dresser transformation to see what it looked like before.
Storage is at a premium in our home, so I love that the dresser pulls double duty as both a console table and extra storage for many of my table linens and napkins.
It’s also the perfect place to display some vintage finds. A typewriter paired with a stack of books, one of my DIY faux stone bunnies, and some paperwhites displayed in an old soup tureen add a subtle hint of spring.

Our Dining Room
Next on the tour is arguably one of my favorite rooms in our home, our dining room.
Since we have a small table in our kitchen, we don’t eat meals here too often. But when we have guests over, it’s nice to have the extra space to spread out and entertain.
In the corner of the dining room is an old barn door that I found at a small antique shop.
And above the buffet is another prized vintage find. A leaded glass window that I found while out shopping with my mom several years ago.
I kept the decor on the buffet simple with just a few neutral-colored accents, including a tiered tray, some spring tulips, and this sign from one of my favorite Midwest makers, Currently Chic Boutique.

A Garden-Inspired Tablescape
Most often you’ll find our dining room table styled with one of my latest table settings. And this spring is no different!
I created this cheery spring garden tablescape for my monthly supper club. I love how it turned out and I couldn’t resist sharing a little peek here.
If you have missed any previous supper club parties, or you’re in need of some tablescape ideas for the spring, you can see all my past table styling ideas here.
And be sure to join us for this month’s party to see all my spring table styling tips.

Our Living Room
The last stop on my casual spring home tour is our living room.
Our living room made its debut during last year’s spring home tour. So it only seems fitting that I would share this room again since we spend the majority of our time as a family here.
As I have shared before, this room is long, narrow, and not very well-lit, making it incredibly hard to photograph.
Because of that, it doesn’t get much love here on the blog or over on my Instagram page, but I am trying to get better about sharing this space.
The living room is home to one of my favorite spring displays. This cute Easter vignette. And would you believe I styled this with items I already had on hand?
I shared all my tips for creating spring vignettes recently, so if you are looking for inspiration, be sure to check out the post.
I have lots of big plans for this space someday, including an updated fireplace and new furniture. But for now, it’s perfect as is.

You are in such a busy time in life, Jen, but enjoy it because it goes so fast! Always love to see how you beautifully style your home for each season. The watering can centerpiece with the carrots sticking out is too cute and your old door is utter perfection:) Happy Spring!
midwestlifeandstyle says
Thank you, Lora. It feels like we are running all the time, but I know I will be sad when my girls are grown and out of the house. Trying to soak up every crazy (but wonderful) minute!
Happy spring to you!
Julie Briones says
Okay… I absolutely LOVE your spring tablescape! It’s just lovely! Now that I have a dining room table, I’m tempted to do more centerpieces and settings, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t have the storage for it! LOL! Also, I LOVE those Essex rabbits… and they are on sale now! I’m so tempted to get them, as I always love seeing them on your and Yvonne’s blogs. Pinned!
midwestlifeandstyle says
Thank you, Julie. The rabbits are a bit of an investment, but I adore them and use them all the time!
I would love to see what you create for tablescapes. I have several basic pieces I re-use all the time that helps with some of the storage issues. And the vintage dresser in my dining room is a great place to stash chargers and linens.
Wendy McMonigle says

Jen,
Your home looks so lovely. I like how you moved things around. It’s my favorite way to decorate.
midwestlifeandstyle says
Thank you, Rachel. To be honest, my brain has been mush lately, so this year’s tour decor was more about being in a creative slump than anything. But it turned out to be a fun challenge to focus on re-using what I already had and finding new ways to style it.
Jennifer Howard says
Jen, you did a great job! Love, love your tablescape. Yay to Spring (although you prob have snow on the ground too!!)

Thank you, friend. Surprisingly (and thankfully) no snow for us. But there is quite a bit still in other parts of the state!
