Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy Sunday, friends!
How is the weather where you are? Here in Nebraska, we went from ice and snow with sub-zero temps at the start of the week to sunny and mid-40s yesterday.
Not that I’m complaining about the sun, mind you. I’m SO ready for spring! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that our weekend warmup is a sign of good things to come!
This week on the blog, I joined my friends from supper club to share two posts, including a tablescape and some new recipes. If you missed out, don’t worry! You can catch up by finding the original posts linked below.
And, as always, I’ve rounded up ideas and inspiration to share with you from a few of my favorite friends.
So pour yourself something to drink, and catch up with the latest week in rewind!
Tidbits From Home
This week was a relatively quiet one. Between the holidays, my surgery, and overlapping sports seasons for the girls, it felt nice to catch my breath a bit.
On Monday, we packed up and headed home after a long (and exhausting) three days in Kansas City for a volleyball tournament. Peyton’s team went 4-3 over the weekend and finished third in the club division.
I am thankful her team has so many great girls with amazing families. It makes all the long tournaments and hours spent at the gym much more enjoyable.
I’m excited to watch them play again in Minneapolis in a few weeks. (Although I’m admittedly less excited about the drive.)
Yesterday we cheered on Harper during her YMCA basketball game. She was most excited that her big sister got to see her score not once, but three times!
It seems like we have spent most of our Saturdays dividing and conquering as of late, so it was nice to all be together for a change.
As for updates on the blogging front, I thought I would use all my newfound “spare” time this week to start decorating for spring. But…as you can see, I didn’t make it far.
This is the current view of my dining room. Part photography studio, part arts and crafts room, and most definitely not share-worthy. And, to be honest, this is what this space looks like more often than not.
All of that is to say there is more happening beyond the lens than the carefully styled and edited photos you see. And that bloggers have messy, imperfect, well-loved homes too. (Or at least I do!)
My Favorite Finds
These travel packing cubes are currently in my cart. I can’t wait to use them on our trip in May!
I’m thinking about purchasing one of these to keep at work. And it comes in multiple colors.
I have and love these adorable bunnies.
I am in love with this flowy dress.
How pretty is this collection of earrings?
More Favorites From Amazon
I am always adding new finds to my Amazon storefront, so be sure to stop by and check out my latest curated collections.
P.s. Did you know that I earn a small commission each time you click on a shoppable link in one of my posts and buy something? (Even if what you purchase is not the item I have linked.)
I am so thankful when you shop using my links. It helps keep my blogging dream alive and my little corner of the web up and going.
This Week On The Blog
On Thursday, I joined my friends from supper club for our latest virtual party, a chili cook-off. And based on the crazy, cold temps earlier in the week, this theme could not have come at a better time.
Read my tips to plan the ultimate chili cook-off and throw a “soup-er” party your friends and family won’t forget!
And, of course, you can’t have a chili cook-off without the star of the party.
Whip up a winning pot of chili with a bit of help from 6 of the best chili cook-off recipes.

Greek Lemon Orzo Soup
One of the few good things about winter is that it gives me an excuse to indulge in cozy comfort food like this delicious-looking Greek lemon orzo soup from my friend Heidi at Eleanor Rose Home.
Stop by Heidi’s blog to see this and more of her yummy recipes.
DIY Decoupage Easter Eggs
My last feature this week goes to my friend, Crissy, who blogs over at First Day of Home.
With March just around the corner, I have been thinking about all things Easter, and I fell in love with Crissy’s beautiful DIY decoupage eggs the moment I saw them.
