Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy Saturday, friends!
And happy belated Thanksgiving to those who celebrated. I hope your day was filled with love, laughter, and all your favorite foods!
Remember when I said I would be slowing down this week to enjoy the holiday? Little did I know how foreshadowing those words would be. Late last Sunday, I was hit by some nasty cold germs and have been down and out since.
I was only able to write one new post this week, but, as always, I found some inspiring posts from a few of my friends that will help get you in the holiday spirit.
So get cozy, and let’s catch up with the latest week in rewind.
Tidbits From Home
Since I spent much of this week battling a killer cold, there wasn’t a lot happening here at home.
Our Thanksgiving celebration was low-key, with just our little family of four. I’m thankful for my amazing hubby, who prepared the entire meal while I hunkered down on the couch. It was delish. Seriously how did I get so lucky?
Yesterday we feasted on these turkey and provolone sliders. They’re a fave in our house and the perfect way to use up some of those Thanksgiving leftovers.
Before the plague hit, I did decorate this Christmas tree in our bedroom. I love how festive it makes our room feel and snuggling up by the cozy glow of the lights each night before bed.
I plan to share my tips to decorate a flocked tree and our full holiday home tour later, including more pics of our cozy Christmas bedroom later this week.
My Favorite Finds
Have you started your holiday shopping, yet? I did take advantage of some online sales on Friday, but there are still plenty of great deals happening. Here are a few of my faves.
There are so many cute clothes and affordable stocking stuffers on Jane.com right now like these lace-up duck boots.
Wayfair has big deals on furniture, decor, appliances, and more!
There are great sales on toys at Walmart. I picked up legos and a hoverboard for my youngest daughter.
Vistaprint has up to 60% off of holiday cards and custom wall calendars until 11/29.

This Week On The Blog
Earlier this week I shared a sneak peek at my plans for the holidays, which include classic red and white decor with some gingerbread pieces sprinkled in.
Have you started thinking about your holiday baking yet? I have all my supplies ready to go and can’t wait to share some family favorites with you on the blog in the coming weeks.
If you’re looking for some new cookie recipes to add to your holiday rotation now, these chocolate-dipped almond shortbread cookies and these double chocolate chip peppermint cookies are deeelish!
Coming Next Week To MWLS
Next week I’ll be sharing some easy tips to decorate your Christmas tree like a pro, and I’ll be joining some friends for two different blog hops. I hope you’ll stop by to join me to see all of the holiday inspiration.

And thank you so much for sharing my vintage silverware ornaments. What an honor. Hope your week gets better soon. Here at my house, there’s still so much to be done!
