Week In Rewind With Midwest Life And Style
Happy Saturday, friends!
Goodness, it was another crazy weather week here. One minute it was fall, and then, bam! We woke up to a balmy 13° yesterday. Brrrr! I guess winter has arrived in the Midwest. At least here in Nebraska.
This week on the blog was all about holiday treats with a new Thanksgiving dessert recipe and a sweet and salty snack board that’s perfect for a holiday movie night. (Can you tell I have just a bit of a sweet tooth?)
And, as always, I found some inspiring posts from a few friends, including lots of ideas for the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. So get cozy, grab a cup of coffee, settle in, and let’s catch up with the week in rewind!
Tidbits From Home
Did you see my BIG news of the week? On Tuesday, I shared on Instagram and over on Facebook that some of my photos were chosen to be featured in the winter edition of Country Sampler Farmhouse Style magazine!
Even now, as I type it out, it still seems surreal. It’s a pinch-me moment, and one I never dreamed would happen. Especially not so soon in my blogging journey.
It’s such an honor to be included, and my good friend, AnnMarie, at Simply2Moms who is part of my supper club group is featured too!
Here’s a sneak peek of the issue. It’s available to purchase in stores or if you’d like, you can download the online version from the Country Sampler website.
My Favorite Finds
I snagged this cute throw pillow for the holidays.
I’m in love with these red and white ticking stripe ornaments.
These classic white dishes are perfect for any occasion.
I have several pairs of these and they would make a great stocking stuffer!
This is my favorite perfume. It’s going on my wishlist for Santa this year.
Latest Loves on Amazon
I’ve added MORE new holiday finds to my Amazon storefront. If you’re in the holiday mood, you can see my favorites here.
P.s. Many things sell out early, so if you see something you like, be sure to grab it while it’s in stock!
This Week On The Blog
On Monday I finally shared the latest recipe that I had been promising.
This no-bake pumpkin cheesecake would be the perfect addition to your Thanksgiving menu. Rich, and decadent, it’s a great alternative to the classic pumpkin pie. And the individual mason jars make it easy to serve.
Then, on Thursday, I shared a sweet and salty snack board for a holiday movie night.
It would be fun to make for the whole family or as a board for two to enjoy during a cozy date night snuggled up by the fireplace.
I loved putting it together, and my girls were more than happy to help devour it once I finished taking photos.
Eleven other friends shared ideas for holiday-inspired charcuterie boards too, so be sure to stop by my post to see all the delicious-looking trays.
Coming Next Week To MWLS
Next week supper club is back with a brand new theme and a delicious holiday-inspired menu! And on Tuesday, I’m also joining a few friends for a holiday DIY blog hop. I can’t wait to show you what I created.
I hope you’ll join me for all the fun!

Oven Roasted Chicken
I’m always on the hunt for easy dinnertime recipes. Now that the weather has turned my mind is on cozy comfort food like this delicious-looking oven-roasted chicken from Cindy at Reinvented Delaware.
Doesn’t it look mouthwatering? You can bet I’ll be adding this to our weekly dinner rotation stat!
DIY Glass Hurricane Lamps
My talented friend, Meeghan, at Caligirl In A Southern World, shared these thrifty DIY glass hurricane lamps.
They look beautiful on her outdoor dining table, and the rust-colored ribbon is the perfect finishing touch. I love how the ribbon can easily be changed, too. Red would look so pretty for the upcoming holiday season!
