Simple Snack Board For A Magical Holiday Movie Night Experience
I love Christmas movies. Just ask my husband and girls. There’s something magical about the season and the joy and happiness that holiday movies bring. Who doesn’t love the warm fuzzy feeling you get from watching a classic like “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” or a romantic holiday movie on the Hallmark channel?
And, since it’s not a movie night unless there are snacks (and lots of them), I thought it would be fun to create a simply salty and sweet holiday snack board to enjoy.
What Treats To Include To Make a Movie Night Snack Board
Here is a list of food I included on my holiday snack board.
- Assortment of Holiday Cookies (I used Pepperidge Farm Rasberry Linzer Cookies, Pepperidge Farm Peppermint Milano Slices, Gingerbread Cookies, and Walkers Shortbread Cookies)
- Movie Theatre Candy ( I included Cinnamon Gummy Bears and Twizzlers)
- Popcorn
- Pretzel Sticks
- Chocolate-Covered Graham Cracker Bites
- Yogurt-Covered Pretzel Twists
How To Arrange Your Sweet and Salty Snack Board
When I first set out to create my salty and sweet holiday movie charcuterie board, I turned to Pinterest for ideas. And there was no shortage of amazing magazine-worthy inspiration!
To arrange your charcuterie board, work in small sections. It helps to focus on one area at a time while keeping symmetry and the overall look of the board in mind.
I started with a small glass bowl in the center of the board. Then, to include a pop of red for Christmas, I added some cinnamon gummy bears.
Next, I started placing some of the cookies on my snack board. I arranged the cookies in opposite corners and worked my way from the outer edges of the tray toward the middle.
Then I filled the remaining two corners with gingerbread cookies and my favorite candy of choice, Twizzlers!
After I filled the corners, I filled the middle of the board with some seasonal treats from Pepperidge Farm, including Raspberry Linzer Sandwich Cookies and Peppermint Milano Slices (which are heavenly, by the way!)
Next, I filled in a few empty spaces with some chocolate-covered graham cracker bites from Trader Joe’s, and yogurt-covered pretzel bites.
Then, to finish making my holiday snack board, I added a few salty snacks, including pretzel sticks and popcorn. Oh, and I snuck in a few more graham cracker bites too. Because you can never have too many chocolate goodies, right?
What Else Can You Use To Make A Salty And Sweet Snack Board?
When it comes to making a holiday movie night charcuterie board, there’s really no wrong way to go about it. It’s all about using whatever treats you and your family love most!
If you’re looking for more ideas, here are a few other suggestions for salty and sweet snacks that you can include.
- Chex Mix
- Goldfish Crackers
- Mixed Nuts
- Rice Krispie Treats
