Welcome to The Blogger’s Best Fall Home Tour 2022
Welcome to the Bloggers Best Fall Home Tour! This week I am thrilled to join a group of 29 other talented and creative bloggers to share our homes decorated for the autumn. First, I want to give a quick thanks to my friend Kelly at The Tattered Pew for all her hard work organizing this tour. And if you haven’t seen Kelly’s stunning home decorated fall, do yourself a favor and check it out!
For any new friends and those of you who are joining me from Aliya at Open Doors Open Hearts, welcome! I’m so happy to have you here, and I look forward to sharing my home tour with you.
But first, a little about me. My name is Jen. I’m a wife, a girl mom, and a lifelong Nebraskan. I love to share about life here in the Midwest and all the things that make a house a home.
You can read more about me here, and I’d love to learn more about you too! Be sure to say “hi” in the comments below and tell me where you’re visiting from.
Okay, enough with the introductions. It’s time to start the tour. After you take my tour, visit the other homes linked at the end of my post. Each day there will be six new homes to tour, so check back throughout the week to see them all.
Now it’s time to grab your favorite beverage, get cozy, and join me for my neutral and navy fall home tour!
Simple Navy and Neutral Fall Home Tour
After a long (and brutally hot) summer, I’m so excited to welcome fall to the Midwest with open arms.
It’s one of my favorite seasons and I always look forward to sharing our home tour with you. If you’d like to look back at my tours from the past few years you can see those HERE and HERE.
Let’s start this year’s neutral and navy fall home tour in our entry.
Fall In Our Entry
Just through the front door are our entry and formal dining room. If you are a regular visitor here or on my Instagram, these spaces probably look familiar to you.
They are some of my favorite spots in our home to decorate, so they tend to get a lot of air time (so to speak).
I like to keep things simple in this space, so most of the decor consists of pieces I keep out all year. Our calendar is always packed, so anything that saves me time (and money) is a bonus!
To decorate our entry for fall, I swapped out the wreath on my front door, tossed a cozy plaid blanket over the chair, and draped some fall garlands on the shelf near our coat closet.
When I chose garlands and fall stems for our home this year, I looked for ones with more brown and chestnut-colored tones to seamlessly blend in with the navy and neutral tour theme.
Most of the items that I used to decorate I had on hand, but I did get a few new things, including these realistic-looking stems I found on Etsy.
Just to the other side of the entry is one of my most treasured pieces of furniture. I rescued this vintage dresser from Goodwill a few years back, and it is still one of the DIY makeovers I’m most proud of.
On top of the dresser, I added a vintage typewriter stuffed with some old postcards. Then I finished styling it with a few amber bottles and a
few stems of dried eucalyptus.
Then to finish this little corner, I used some blue velvet ribbon to hang a magnolia wreath over my mirror.

Fall In Our Dining Room
Next on my fall home tour is our dining room, which provided the inspiration for this year’s navy and neutral color scheme.
It all started with the idea to host a chowder cook-off with my supper club friends here on the blog. Each month we share a new themed tablescape and party menu. This time we drew inspiration from chowder tasting festivals that are held throughout New England each year.
With that in mind, I combined bits of coastal decor with an autumn garland and, this coastal fall tablescape was the end result.
This is the first time I’ve used hints of blue in my fall decor, and I think it may be my new favorite accent color for the season!
I love the way the blue bowls and napkins pop against the white dishes and linen tablecloth.
Here you can see some more of the details of the table. Seashells, galvanized candleholders, and glasses with wicker accents, add rustic touches and coastal charm.
To finish the tablescape, I made these $5 coastal napkin ring holders with supplies from the Dollar Store. Aren’t they cute?
Beyond the dining table and above the buffet, you’ll see one of my favorite vintage pieces. I found this leaded glass window while shopping with my mom several years ago. It’s definitely one of the stars of our dining room.
The corbels on both sides of the window also hold a special place in my heart. They came from the old porch that was once part of my grandparents’ farmhouse. It makes me so happy knowing I forever have a piece of their farm in our home.

Fall In Our Living Room
The last stop on my fall home tour is our living room. There are so many things I’d like to update in this room, so it’s not one I share often. But for now, I’m learning to love (or at least live with) how it looks in the in-between.
This is the view as you look out from our kitchen. This dinged-up, dark brown console table has been with us since we moved into our first apartment more than 16 years ago. And while it’s seen better days, I can’t bear to part with it.
To cover all of the nicks and scratches, I mixed a few new pieces with some vintage decor to create a cottage-style vignette.
A pair of cameras from my collection stacked on some old book add a bit of height. And I even snuck in a few shells to carry over some of the coastal vibes from the dining room.
An old soup tureen makes a great vase for some leaves. And It wouldn’t be fall without some pumpkins and a few pinecones.
To break up all of the neutral colors, I added some more pops of blue with a cozy throw blanket and some new plaid pillows. I love how they both pull out the blues from our rug and curtains to make the room look more cohesive.
The chest in our living room doubles as both a coffee table and storage for extra blankets, so easy access is a must. I like to style the top by adding seasonal decor to different trays like this wicker one.
Then when someone needs to grab a blanket or set down their drink, the decor can easily be picked up and moved.
Flameless candles, a class cloche, acorns, and some neutral fall leaves finish the look.
