A Friendsgiving Bruch To Remember
Happy (almost) November, friends! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away?
Not only is Thanksgiving a time to gather with family, but it’s a time to celebrate the blessing of friendship. In the spirit of giving thanks, the ladies and I from supper club are sharing tips and ideas to host the best Friendsgiving brunch, which includes 5 new tablescape ideas and a bonus tablescape from our guest host, Cindy, at County Road 407.
Cindy is a fellow Midwestern gal who lives in the heart of Texas. She has an eye for style and loves to share simple DIYs and home decor. Cindy is as sweet as they come and has a fabulous sense of humor to boot.
I know you’ll love her as much as I do, so be sure to stop by her blog, take a look around, and say “hi”.
5 Tips To Host The Best Friendsgiving Brunch
Before we dive into my 5 tips to host the best Friendsgiving brunch, I want to say welcome to my friends, both old and new. And an extra special welcome to those who have joined me from my friend Michele’s blog, Vintage Home Designs. Thank you so much for stopping by!
You don’t have to spend a lot of money to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere for your friends. And I’m going to show you how!
Set The Table
The first step to hosting a Friendsgiving brunch is to style simple and festive place settings.
Start with some patterned placemats and rustic woven chargers to add a bit of texture and create an anchor for each setting.
These chargers are my favorites and get used often when I style tables. (You can also see how I used them in this Thanksgiving tablescape and this fall harvest look.)
Next, build layers by placing a contrasting colored napkin between each plate. I prefer white dishes like these for almost all of my tablescapes. Not only are they perfect for everyday use, but they’re elegant and versatile enough to use for special occasions like a Friendsgiving brunch.
Don’t be afraid to mix and match dishes, too! I like to include vintage decor whenever possible like these saucers. And finish with a fun seasonal piece like pumpkin-shaped bowls.
Complete your place settings with a folded napkin pocket. To give the linens a touch of elegance I added some blue velvet ribbon and finished with gold flatware.
Create A One-Of-A-Kind Centerpiece
Impress your friends with a one-of-a-kind centerpiece like a rustic cornucopia centerpiece. With ties to the bounty of fall harvest, it’s the perfect decor to adorn your brunch table.
Small details make the table feel extra special. Turn mini white pumpkins into candle holders with the addition of some inexpensive tealights.
And use vintage brass candlesticks to bring some warmth and a cozy glow to your tablescape.
To create balance around the cornucopia centerpiece, I placed more fall leaves and some pinecones down the center of the table.
To finish my Friendsgiving brunch centerpiece I added some bird statues that I found at a local garden center on clearance, and then spray-painted them gold to coordinate with the brass candlesticks.
Select A Unique Bruch Menu
Select a unique menu for your Friendsgiving brunch that includes a mix of both hot and cold items. Think about including recipes that use fresh seasonal items like cranberries, apples, or pumpkins.
And share the brunch menu with your guests by placing a printable Thanksgiving menu card at each place setting.
Need some recipe inspiration to help create your menu? Here are a few of my favorite brunch and breakfast foods.
Breakfast Casseroles and Main Dishes
Bacon Spinach and Tomato Quiche | Cheesy Hashbrown Casserole
Old-Fashioned Ham Balls | Bacon and Egg Potato Bake
Baked Goods
Baked Pumpkin Donuts | Apple Fritter Monkey Bread
Pumpkin Spice Streusel Muffins | Chocolate Chip Zucchini Muffins
Side Dishes
Serve a Signature Drink
Everybody loves a signature drink! It’s a fun way to help set the mood for a casual Friendsgiving brunch, and you can easily create a cocktail based on your menu or the theme of your get-together.
If you’re looking for a quick (and super simple!) drink to serve at your gathering, try an apple cider mimosa. It’s the perfect combination of sweet and tart, and you only need two ingredients to whip up a batch for your party.
Or, if you want something with a bit more kick, try an apple cider mojito.
Surprise Your Guests With A Special Gift
The last of my 5 tips to host the best Friendsgiving brunch is to surprise your guests with a special gift that they can take home after the party.
Write a handwritten note to each friend expressing why you are thankful for them, and attach the cards to mini bottles of champagne at each place setting.
It’s a simple and thoughtful idea that pairs well with a mimosa bar and a certain signature apple cider cocktail (hint, hint).
If a mimosa bar’s not your thing, there are plenty of other ways you can surprise your friends. Here are a few other Friendsgiving brunch party favor ideas:
- Mini canning jars filled with homemade granola
- Monogrammed mugs with tea bags
- Fall-scented candles
- DIY holiday simmer pot potpourri mix
- Fall Sachet
- Gourmet soaps, bath bombs, or bath salts

Jen this is beautiful! I love your cornucopia centerpiece and those bird statues!
midwestlifeandstyle says
Thank you, Nicolle. The cornucopia was a fun DIY and aren’t those little birds the cutest? I found them in the outdoor garden center section and spruced them up with some spray paint. I’m sure they were meant to be outdoor statues, but I just love how they look on the table.

You have SUCH an amazing eye for styling a table!! I LOVE the colors that you used. The brass candle sticks and the vintage little saucers are incredible!! Beautiful job, my friend. This is the perfect, simple, and elegant table for Thanksgiving!

Thank you, Rachel! I couldn’t believe my luck when I found the transferware saucers last year. I just love the color and pattern with the pheasants for fall. I have some teacups to go with them, too! I have sourced a website where I can find more of the pieces. I’m hoping to build my collection so I can eventually have a full set of the china.
